Jan 17, 2023 8:54 AM

Daniel Snyder will soon sell the Washington Commanders, according to a report, with an announcement coming as soon as this spring.

The NFL holds its annual meeting in March.

Snyder and his wife, Tanya, announced in November they would explore a potential sale of the team through Bank of America Securities.

The Commanders are expected to net anywhere between $5.5 billion to $6.5 billion, which would set a league record.

Commanders Seek 'Fresh Start' At OC, Fire Scott Turner

Jan 11, 2023 8:28 AM

The Washington Commanders have fired offensive coordinator Scott Turner after yet another disappointing season.

Turner, who signed a three-year extension last offseason, had been with coach Ron Rivera for seven years.

The Commanders finished a third consecutive season with poor offensive rankings. They were 20th in total yards and 26th in points.

"Unfortunately, we did not live up to the expectations and standard that I expected to see from our offensive unit," Rivera said in a statement. "I felt it was best for a fresh start at the coordinator position going into next year. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Scott and thanked him for his three years of service to our organization."

Ron Rivera Doesn't Regret Starting Carson Wentz Over Taylor Heinicke

Jan 4, 2023 8:26 AM

Ron Rivera turned to Carson Wentz in Week 17 and saw the Washington Commanders lose to the Cleveland Browns.

Washington put up just 10 points and turned the ball over three times.

Rivera said he has no regrets about the decision to start Wentz over Taylor Heinicke.

"No, because to me it was always about winning and that it was in our hands," Rivera said. "I mean, we controlled our destiny basically and that's the truth of the matter. Being 0-2-1 in the last three games was probably a thing that really pushed me more than anything else. And that's what I looked at. And as I said, coming off of the last quarter of the 49er game, I was relatively optimistic in terms of dealing with what Carson could do.

"I thought we could run the ball. I think we could have run the ball a little bit better even though we did run it well. And I think that could have helped us a little bit more. But again, it's the decision that was made because I felt we needed a little something, after going that stretch of 0-2-1."
