Oct 31, 2014 2:13 PM

The Redskins benched quarterback Donovan McNabb late in their loss to the Lions on Sunday afternoon. McNabb was benched for Washington's final two possessions. Washington coach Mike Shanahan said Rex Grossman was more comfortable with the team's two-minute offense. "I thought that was the best scenario for us to win," Shanahan said. Grossman fumbled on his first play, Lions rookie Ndamukong Suh scooped up the football and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown. McNabb was 17-for-30 with 210 yards, a touchdown and an interception before he was benched.

"I don't have to think as much on the field -- I can just go out and play."

"I think our defensive line is playing well," Fisher said. "Clearly Albert's situation has settled down there in Washington. He is under contract and there was no interest in them as far as moving him is concerned." Fisher didn't deny that the Titans had interest in re-acquiring Haynesworth, who made a name for himself in Tennessee.
