The Redskins apologized Tuesday for comments Clinton Portis made during a television interview ridiculing authorities for pursuing possible dog fighting charges against Michael Vick.
Also, Chris Samuels said he was wrong for joking about dog fighting during the interview he and Portis did Monday with WAVY-TV in Norfolk.
In the segment, Portis said that Vick would be put "behind bars for no reason" if the Falcons quarterback were charged and convicted for dog fighting. Samuels laughed during much of the interview.

Springs Intends To Report To Minicamp
Washington Redskins cornerback Shawn Springs said he intends to report June 5 to Redskins Park after skipping the first two weeks of the voluntary organized team activities.
"I'm excited to get back in town and crack jokes with my teammates and catch up with my boys," he said. He added that he would have reported next week, but no OTAs are scheduled because of the Memorial Day holiday.
Portis: "It Doesn't Matter If Vick Did Take Part In Dog Fighting"
While prosecutors and the league try to find out if Michael Vick was involved in a dog fighting ring at a Virginia house that he owned, one NFL player says it doesn't matter if he did take part.
"I don't know if he was fighting dogs or not, but it's his property, it's his dog," Redskins running back Clinton Portis told WAVY-TV in Virginia. "If that's what he wants to do, do it. I think people should mind their business."
When told that dog fighting is a felony, Portis replied, "It can't be too bad of a crime."
Redskins Sign Westbrook's Brother
The Redskins signed Brian Westbrook's brother on Tuesday, along with seven other players who attended the team's recent rookie camp.
Byron Westbrook, a DB from Division III Salisbury, is the latest Redskins acquisition with family ties to the NFL. Last month, the team drafted Carson Palmer's brother (Jordan Palmer), Dawan Landry's brother (LaRon Landry) and the son of former NFL player Bennie Blades (H.B. Blades).
Brian Westbrook, the Eagles running back, and his younger brother attended DeMatha High School in the Washington area.
Veteran RB Blaylock Auditions With Redskins
Derrick Blaylock is a six-year veteran running back who has enjoyed a few highlights in an otherwise ordinary NFL career.
So what was he doing on the field this weekend with scores of tryout players at the Redskins rookie camp?
"I'm not a prideful guy," Blaylock said Sunday. "I'm not above this. I don't feel like I'm above anybody. I just come out here and work and hopefully I'll make the team. I'm going to keep fighting, that's the thing. You've got to fight. You can't give up."
