Sean Taylor's Trial Date Pushed Back

Jul 21, 2014 10:41 PM

All scheduled hearings in Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor's felony assault case have been postponed, including one set to take place yesterday, and his trial date of May 8 likely will be pushed back as well, according to members of the defense and prosecution. There will be a new judge and lead prosecutor, with the case recently reassigned to both parties, who will require additional time to prepare. Ed Griffith, a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, said that Criminal Court Judge Leonard Glick will be taking over for Judge Mary Barzee , who had been handling Taylor's case since its original trial date last September but will be handling civil cases after this week.

Lloyd had been slated to make $1.57 million this year, but Washington soon began negotiations for a multiyear contract. Terms of the new deal were not available.

Arrington And Giants Far Apart

Oct 20, 2014 7:21 AM

Given his pedigree, it was not likely linebacker LaVar Arrington would make it into the month of April without hooking on with a new team. But that is the case, a sure sign the player is seeking more money than anyone is willing to spend. The Giants have real interest in Arrington but have engaged in no real substantive talks with his agents since making an offer three weeks ago. Arrington and his family paid a visit to the Giants in the second week of March, dined with coach Tom Coughlin, GM Ernie Accorsi and linebacker Antonio Pierce, Arrington's former teammate with the Redskins.
