Patten Out For Season Following Surgery

Jun 6, 2014 10:25 PM

Washington Redskins receiver David Patten is out for the season after undergoing surgery on his right knee Friday. Patten had been feeling irritation in the knee for a couple of weeks and had missed practices but not games. The pain grew worse this week, and doctors diagnosed a cartilage injury that required surgery. "We were hoping that it was going to be something where it was just cleaned out, but they had to do some kind of repair to it," coach Joe Gibbs said Friday. "I don't think it's anything serious."

Sean Taylor Likely Out Against Bucs

Jun 6, 2014 10:25 PM

Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor is likely to miss Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a sprained ankle. Taylor hurt the ankle in the victory over San Francisco three weeks ago, but he was able to play in a loss to the New York Giants and last week's win over Philadelphia. But, he has not practiced this week and on Friday was downgraded from probable to questionable. "Unless he really starts feeling good, in all likelihood I wouldn't think he'd go this week," coach Joe Gibbs said.
