Derrick Morgan Retiring From NFL At Age 30

Jul 15, 2019 8:24 AM

Derrick Morgan is retiring from the NFL at the age of 30.

The former Tennessee Titans linebacker will turn his attention to making a more significant impact outside of football.

Morgan spent nine seasons with the Titans after they selected him with the 16th overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft.

"My purpose in life is bigger than the game," Morgan said. "What football taught me was the power of influence. My goal is to create better and more meaningful opportunities for marginalized communities to break the cycles of generational poverty and build greater wealth and economic mobility. I feel a deep responsibility to leverage my platform for this."

Mike Vrabel Reiterates Ryan Tannehill Will Be Backup

Jul 8, 2019 10:48 PM

The Tennessee Titans don't see any quarterback controversy between Marcus Mariota and Ryan Tannehill.

Mike Vrabel reiterated that Tannehill, acquired in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, will serve as the team's backup.

"His job as a backup -- everybody's job as a backup -- is to push the guy in front of him," Vrabel said. "To compete and try to make yourself better and try to make the team better and see how everybody responds."

Tannehill was the eighth overall pick back in 2012.
