The Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired Nick Vannett from the Seattle Seahawks.

The Steelers need depth at tight end with Vance McDonald battling a shoulder sprain. McDonald is not expected to have an extended absence.

Pete Carroll remains confident in Chris Carson despite the fact that the running back has lost a fumble in each of the Seattle Seahawks' three games.

"Because we do believe in him, we're going to continue to show him that," Carroll said. "He's a terrific football player, and we want to make sure and maintain that level of play from him so we'll work at it, work with him on it."

Carson's three fumbles don't include one from last week in Pittsburgh, when he was hit and upended right as he took a handoff from Russell Wilson. That fumble was officially attributed to Wilson.

"I just have to keep trying to get better," Carson said. "The defense is going to try and go after the ball so I have to be aware of that."

The Seattle Seahawks had interest in Antonio Brown when he was released by the Oakland Raiders, but that does not appear to be the case now that he's a free agent again upon his release by the New England Patriots.

Since signing with the Patriots, there have been multiple sexual assault allegations against Brown.

“We’re pretty well set right now,” Carroll said Friday, via Gregg Bell of the News Tribune. “We kind of know where we’re going with that.”

Carroll’s reaction was similar to those of Sean Payton and Sean McVay, who were asked about their interest in Brown.

“Right now, where we are . . .I like our depth at that position,” Payton said, via Dianna Russini of ESPN. “I haven’t paid much attention. I’m focused on the guys here.”

“You always look into things,” McVay said, via quotes distributed by the team. “We evaluate, but with the situation we have specific to the receiver position, we couldn’t be happier with the guys that we do have.”

Antonio Brown had a "robust" market once he was released by the Oakland Raiders, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

The Patriots were a "fait accompli" soon after his release however.

The Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks were amongst the teams interested in Brown. Brown worked out with Russell Wilson this offseason.

D.K. Metcalf has declared himself ready to play in Week 1 for the Seattle Seahawks just 19 days after undergoing knee surgery.

The quick recovery led the rookie wide receiver to refer to himself as "Wolverine" during a recent conversation with Pete Carroll.

Metcalf had been getting regular playing time with the Seahawks' No. 1 offense before he had surgery on Aug. 20, which Carroll referred to as a "minimal" procedure.
