Philip Rivers Still Commuting To Practice From San Diego

Aug 20, 2018 3:29 PM

Philip Rivers is again commuting from his home north of San Diego to the Los Angeles Chargers' practice facility in Orange County.

"Worked great last year," said Rivers.

Rivers has a driver and a $200,000 luxury SUV equipped with two captain chairs, a 40-inch TV and video apparatus.

“It averaged about an hour and six minutes in the morning. Maybe 90 minutes at night, you know, when there was more traffic. But that’s okay. Just popped in third-down or red-zone [tape to analyze], and I’m good to go.”

Chargers May Keep Two Kickers During Season

Aug 16, 2018 8:07 AM

Anthony Lynn says the Los Angeles Chargers will consider keeping two kickers during the regular season, but he'd like one of his kickers to become the clear favorite for the No. 1 job.

"I'd love to make the decision sooner than later," Lynn said. "I really would. But it's so close right now."

The Chargers struggled at the position last season. They currently have Caleb Sturgis and Roberto Aguayo in camp.

Philip Rivers Doesn't Have Number In Mind Yet On Retirement

Aug 6, 2018 11:37 AM

Philip Rivers turns 37 in December and has two seasons remaining on his current contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, but isn't prepared to look beyond that.

“I’m super excited about a handful more years,” Rivers said to Albert Breer of SI.com. “I don’t have a number in my head. I laugh when I hear Drew, Brady’s already 41, when I hear them say mid-40s, I go, ‘Y’all can have that. I have no desire to get there. One thing I am thankful about is I know what I’m gonna be doing when I’m done. I’m gonna be coaching high school football somewhere, maybe the very next season.”

Rivers has maintained his level of play.

Rivers said he feels his play “last year was probably as consistent as I’ve been in four or five years.”
