Chargers Name LaDainian Tomlinson Special Assistant To Ownership

The Los Angeles Chargers have named LaDainian Tomlinson a special assistant to ownership.

Tomlinson, who is an NFL Network analyst, will remain in his current role as well.

"L.T. is one of the most beloved and iconic Chargers of all time," chairman Dean Spanos said in a statement. "His active involvement in our fight for Los Angeles is vital, and he represents the very best of what it means to be a Charger on the field and in the community."

Jerry Jones is a large shareholder of Legends, a hospitality-marketing company that will now sell the suites, concessions and sponsorships for the Las Vegas stadium for the Raiders.

Jones played a big role in guiding the Raiders to Las Vegas, as he did for the 49ers in Santa Clara and the Rams and Chargers in Los Angeles.

Legends is expected to earn hundreds of millions of dollars due to this new stadium activity.

Some valuations of Legends has eclipsed a few NFL teams.

Saints Close To Signing Manti Te'o

The New Orleans Saints are close to a deal with Manti Te'o.

The Saints have already signed one inside linebacker this year, giving A.J. Klein a three-year, $15 million deal.

In 2016, Te'o suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week 3 against the Colts and was done for the year.

Te'o, who turned 26 in January, has missed a combined 26 games in his four previous NFL seasons.

Russell Okung Agrees Upon Four-Year, $53M Deal With Chargers

Russell Okung has agreed upon a four-year, $53 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Okung will be guaranteed $25 million.

Okung was the sixth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and spent the first six seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks before joining the Denver Broncos last season.

Okung was a Pro Bowler in 2012 at left tackle.
