The assumption all along was that Whisenhunt would remain on the staff, but Lynn confirmed as much on Tuesday when he was introduced.

"As we put this together, things may change. So I can't really answer that right now," Lynn said. "But Ken Whisenhunt, I know he's going to be my offensive coordinator. I interviewed for a couple jobs last year and Ken was the No. 1 coordinator on my list. So I was happy to see that he was here and he definitely will be retained. We're still putting it together and I don't want to get too far down the road with that."

Chargers To Announce Relocation To Los Angeles

Jan 12, 2017 12:21 PM

The San Diego Chargers will announce they're moving to Los Angeles.

The Chargers played in San Diego for 55 years after one season in Los Angeles in 1960.

The Chargers have notified NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and other league owners, of their intent to move to Los Angeles for the 2017 season, sources said.

Dean Spanos had yet to send a formal relocation letter to the NFL, yet to notify public officials in Los Angeles or San Diego of the team's move, or even tell the members of the San Diego organization about his plans.

This is said to have been an extremely difficult decision for Spanos to reach, sources said. While the economics of the decision have been clear, Spanos' loyalty and connection to San Diego have countered it.
