Raiders, Chargers Willing To Change Divisions

Aug 17, 2015 8:28 PM

The Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers have agreed upon a switch in divisions if they both move to Los Angeles.

The Chargers and Raiders are rivals in the AFC West, which could make game scheduling and other issues difficult in a shared stadium.

"The teams have made clear to the league and NFL owners that "you send us to LA and you'll make the decision as to who plays in what conference or division," Carmen Policy told reporters.

Philip Rivers, Chargers Agree Upon Extension With $65M Guaranteed

Aug 17, 2015 12:37 PM

Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers have agreed upon a four-year extension.

Tom Telesco said he wanted to make sure that Rivers retired with the Chargers.

The new deal worth $83.25 million with $65 million guaranteed gives Rivers the highest guaranteed money of any player under a current contract.

The Chargers potentially relocating to Los Angeles reportedly had been a source of heartburn for Rivers, who wasn’t keen on moving his family a couple of hours north.

NFL Exec: Oakland Has No Viable Plan To Keep Raiders

Aug 12, 2015 6:42 PM

NFL owners held a meeting in Chicago on Tuesday to discuss a possible relocation to Los Angeles.

The Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams all have interest in relocating to Los Angeles.

"The facts on the ground are that there's been no viable proposal to the Raiders," executive vice president of NFL ventures and business operations Eric Grubman said after the Special League Meeting on Los Angeles. "... As of yet, there's no proposal for the Raiders to consider."

Added Grubman: "If a proposal is made at any stage, and it's not actionable ... it's really not something the club could act upon."
