JuJu Smith-Schuster Praises Chemistry In Steelers' Locker Room

May 23, 2019 8:23 AM

JuJu Smith-Schuster likes what he sees in regards to chemistry as the Pittsburgh Steelers began organized team activities this week.

"The chemistry is on point," Smith-Schuster said. "Everyone is on the same page. Everyone is communicating. There's really no -- how do you say? -- drama in our locker room."

Smith-Schuster replaces Antonio Brown as Pittsburgh's No. 1 option in the passing game.

He said the Steelers' locker room is full of veterans who know their role. That won't stop him from providing a youthful bite.

"Being a young guy in a room, being 22, I feel like a French bulldog, you know, just barking at everybody,'' he told reporters. "At the same time, they've got dogs, too, so they can bark. I like that role.''

Ben Roethlisberger Accepts Blame For Criticizing Antonio Brown

May 21, 2019 9:50 AM

Ben Roethlisberger accepted blame for criticising Antonio Brown during the 2018 season.

"I took some heat, and deservedly so, for some of the comments on that show and especially toward him," Roethlisberger told the outlet. "I genuinely feel bad about that and I'm sorry. Did I go too far after that Denver game? Probably ..."

Roethlisberger expressed contrition for his post-Week 12 comments on 93.7 The Fan, including his observation that Brown should have run a flatter route on a late-game interception and that he wished he had thrown the ball to JuJu Smith-Schuster at the goal line instead.

"That's the thing about media and social media, as soon as you say 'sorry' it only goes so far. You can't take it back," Roethlisberger said about his comments. "And I wish I could, because if that's what ruined our friendship and relationship, I'm truly, genuinely sorry about that."

Kevin Colbert: Ben Roethlisberger Has No 'Expiration Date'

May 2, 2019 9:49 AM

Ben Roethlisberger is under contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers up to his 40th birthday.

Kevin Colbert believes the quarterback could continue throwing passes after he contract expires following the 2021 season.

"I know he doesn't have an expiration date," Colbert said. "We just felt that that was a foreseeable future that we were able to do, and he was agreeable to. But I'm sure that he doesn't have an expiration date. I know that he's still very competitive. He still wants to do this at a high level. He doesn't need money, he doesn't need Hall of Fame credentials in my opinion. He's already achieved both of those. What he wants is more Super Bowls. And he wants to continue to try to win, and we're gonna support that. And that was a big part of why we were willing to do what we did, and now it's our job to help him help us get there."
