Ben Roethlisberger Restructures Contract With Steelers

Mar 14, 2015 2:35 PM

Ben Roethlisberger has agreed upon a new contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Roethlisberger had been going into the final year of the eight-year, $102 million contract he signed in 2008.

Roethlisberger, who turned 33 in March, had a salary-cap hit of $18.395 million this year, which was presumably lowered with the new deal.

Steelers Won't Bring Back Troy Polamalu For 2015

Mar 5, 2015 10:46 AM

The Pittsburgh Steelers don't have Troy Polamalu in their plans for 2015 and the only question is how he'll make his exit.

The Steelers hope Polamalu decides to retire rather than play for another team.

Polamalu was the anchor of the Steelers' defense for more than a decade, but his play has fallen off as he enters his mid-30s.

Polamalu will count $6 million against the cap.

Steelers Hope Troy Polamalu Decides To Retire

Mar 4, 2015 10:55 AM

The Pittsburgh Steelers hope Troy Polamalu will decide to retire this offseason.

"That is the elephant in the room," beat writer Ed Bouchette said. "I expect him not to be here by some means. The Steelers are hoping he would retire, but I don't know if he is going to."

"Either way, he won't be back," NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport tweeted Wednesday.

Polamalu openly pondered retirement after January's playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Polamalu is set to count $6 million against the cap.
