Ben Roethlisberger has already talked with the newest Steelers first-round draft pick, offensive guard David DeCastro.
Roethlisberger is thrilled that Pittsburgh made a commitment to their offensive line by selecting DeCastro, as well as offensive tackle Mike Adams in the second round and a third lineman, tackle Kelvin Beachum, in the seventh round on Saturday.
"I'm excited," Roethlisberger said "You know, at least on paper, it looks awesome. But, you never know until you take the field and the bullets start flying. I'm really excited. We got some good guys on offense and defense to help add to a team that was good already.
"I had an idea [about the picks]. They kept me in the loop a little bit. When DeCastro was there, you got to take him. Some are saying he's one of the best guards in college since Alan Faneca. We hope he can live up to the hype."

The Steelers have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Byron Leftwich to serve as Ben Roethlisberger's backup.

Steelers 'Not Worried' About Wallace Reports
The Steelers aren't overly concerned about Mike Wallace's contract situation.
The wide receiver isn't happy with his contract, but the team knows there isn't much Wallace can do about it.
"We're not worried about the reports," general manager Kevin Colbert said. "He's still here. We will deal with it day to day."
ESPN has reported that Wallace won't attend voluntary work anytime soon, choosing to wait before signing his one-year tender as a restricted free agent.
"We felt all along the decision would be ours," Colbert said about Wallace's lack of movement on the restricted market. "We want Mike to be here for the long haul. He knows that."
Sources: Mike Wallace Prepared To Hold Out
Mike Wallace is prepared to sit out offseason drills and at least the start of training camp, according to league officials.
The receiver told some within the Steelers organization that he does not plan to sign his first-round tender "until he has to."
Wallace is seeking a long-term deal and is unhappy with the $2.7 million first-round tender he received form Pittsburgh.
Sources: Wallace Will Remain With Steelers
Mike Wallace will remain with the Steelers after a Friday deadline passed with no team offering the restricted free agent an offer sheet, according to sources.
Pittsburgh's front office took a risk by not putting the franchise tag on Wallace and won $7 million with that gamble
They netted $6.8 million by putting a first-round tender on Wallace of $2.7 million instead of the $9.5 million tag.
Wallace hasn't reported to offseason workouts because he has yet to sign a contract tender.
He has until June 15 to sign it before the Steelers can cut the tender to $577,500 -- a loss of $2.1 million.
Sources: Wallace Likely To Remain With Steelers
With Mike Wallace facing a Friday deadline to sign an offer sheet with another team, it now is expected that he will return to Pittsburgh for the 2012 season, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
No team has made a significant run yet at Wallace, and it is not expected that one will, sources told Schefter.

Report: Steelers Aren't Dealing Wallace
Despite reports to the contrary, longtime Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says that the team will not trade Mike Wallace.
There will be teams interested in trading for the wide receiver, but that doesn't mean Pittsburgh will engage in talks.
The Steelers placed a first-round tender on Wallace this offseason.
