Police Report: Father Of Jerome Bettis Dies Of Heart Attack At Age 61
Johnnie Bettis, the father of retired running back Jerome Bettis, died Tuesday at a suburban Detroit hospital of an apparent heart attack, police said.
Johnnie Bettis, 61, of Detroit, was stricken while driving in a suburb north of the city around noon, police Lt. Carl Fuhs said.
Polamalu Will Miss First Professional Game
For the first time in his professional career, Troy Polamalu will not be able to play. He sprained sprained his medial collateral ligament on Sunday, but no surgery will be required.
Polamalu said after the game he is hopeful he will return to play this season.
"I'm definitely optimistic about it," Polamalu said.

Steelers' Polamalu Leaves Saints' Game With Head Injury
Steelers' safety Troy Polamalu left Sunday's game against New Orleans after sustaining an unspecified head injury late in the first quarter.
Polamalu, an All-Pro safety last season, was hurt during a Saints touchdown drive that cut Pittsburgh's lead to 14-7.
He was examined by doctors on the Steelers' sideline and, while he was not taken to the locker room, remained on the bench for New Orleans' next possession with Tyrone Carter taking his place.

Joey Porter promised a new beginning will take place Sunday when they play the 6-2 New Orleans Saints at Heinz Field.

Break-In At Heinz Field For Music Video Sparks Anti-Terror Response
Two local college students attempted to break into Heinz Field on Saturday night in order to film a music video. The break-in prompted an anti-terror response.
Although explosives-sniffing canines found nothing of interest around the football stadium, an affidavit said the dogs registered two separate "positive hits for explosives" in the Lexus sport utility vehicle the men were driving.
