Doug Pederson Remains Committed To Sam Bradford As Starter

Jul 26, 2016 9:21 AM

Doug Pederson remains committed to Sam Bradford as his starting quarterback.

Pederson is entering his first training camp as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Additionally, the depth chart still has Chase Daniel second and No. 2 overall pick Carson Wentz third.

"I've said all along that Sam's the guy," Pederson said.

"You've got to get through four (preseason) games and a lot of preseason. But going into Sept. 11, Sam's the guy. I'll stick with that. Chase is our No. 2, and Carson is our No. 3."

Pederson hasn't made a final decision on how he'll divide the quarterback reps among the three of them when the team commences full-squad workouts on Thursday.

Eagles Expect Carson Wentz To Begin Season As 3rd String QB

Jul 17, 2016 6:20 PM

Carson Wentz is likely to begin his NFL career on the inactive list for Week 1.

Doug Pederson expects the Philadelphia Eagles to have Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel atop their depth chart at quarterback.

"Typically, the third quarterback is down," said Pederson, according to the Philly Voice. "It's hard right now to look down the road, but if we had to play this week, Carson would be down. He'd be the third quarterback. He'd be deactivated. That's probably the direction we're heading, I would think is going that route. Obviously barring injury and, as you know, how this game is, but typically the third quarterback, whoever that is, is down on game day."

The Eagles traded up to pick Wentz at second overall.

After two years in Chicago, the NFL Draft is moving to Philadelphia, according to one Pennsylvania politician.

Congressman Bob Brady claims that Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney called to inform Brady that Philadelphia has secured the event.

However, the city says otherwise.

"I can't speak for the Congressman, but I can tell you that the City has definitely not been awarded the draft," Kenney spokeswoman Lauren Hitt told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
