The Philadelphia Eagles will keep Andy Reid as head coach through at least Sunday's game against the Cowboys, according to a source.
The Eagles have lost seven consecutive games and Reid isn't expected to return in 2013.
The Philadelphia Eagles will be without Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy this week against the Panthers with concussions.
Vick missed last week's loss to the Redskins.
McCoy was injured during the final minutes of last week's game.
Nick Foles will start at quarterback, while Bryce Brown will replace McCoy at running back.
Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson combined for five receiving yards in Sunday's loss by the Philadelphia Eagles to the Redskins.
Nick Foles targeted Jackson nine times, but only completed two passes. Macline received three targets and didn't complete a single pass.
“You know, just wasn’t able to get it to them,” Foles said. “I don’t know. I just wasn’t able to get the ball to them today.
“Those guys are playmakers, you’ve got to be able to get them the ball. They do a lot of great things for us, and they were running hard all day, so as a quarterback I have to figure out [how] when I get my chances, to get them the ball.”
LeSean McCoy suffered a concussion in the Philadelphia Eagles' 31-6 loss to the Redskins on Sunday.
McCoy was injured late in the fourth quarter when he took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Madieu Williams.
Andy Reid was asked why McCoy remained in the game with the score out of reach.
“Because we’re trying to catch up and win the game,” said Reid.
Nick Foles has been named the starter for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11 against the Redskins.
Michael Vick has been resting at home for most of the week due to the concussion he suffered last week.
Andy Reid reportedly wants to evaluate Foles and if he performs well, the thinking is that the embattled head coach could save his job.
The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to undergo massive change in the offseason and Nnamdi Asomugha could be another player to move on.
Asomugha is expected to earn a base salary of $15 million next season.
According to a source, only $4 million of Asomugha's contract is guaranteed.
Per the source, the contract reduces Asomugha’s pay by $3 million in 2013 if the participates in fewer than 90 percent of the snaps in 2011 or 2012. Benching Asomugha late in the year for a couple of games would prevent him from hitting that number, dropping his salary to $12 million.
The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-23 in what was a must-win game for both teams.
The Cowboys had a -0.8 deficit in The Trench Counter, recording nine fewer first downs but won the turnover battle 2-0. The Eagles had a +7 edge in Total Rushes/Completions.
Tony Romo went 19-for-26 for 209 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Dez Bryant and Felix Jones for their offensive touchdowns.
In a game that was tied at 17 heading into the fourth quarter, the Cowboys scored on a punt return, interception and a fumble.
Nick Foles came in for the concussed Michael Vick and went 22-for-32 for one touchdown, one interception and a lost fumble.
Michael Vick suffered a concussion after being slammed to the turf by Jay Ratliff.
Vick exited the game with rookie Nick Foles at quarterback.
Foles was excellent in the preseason.
LeSean McCoy has played 30 more snaps than any other running back in the NFL, rarely coming off the field for the Philadelphia Eagles.
But McCoy has just 146 carries, which is fewer than eight other backs in the NFL.
Incidentally, it is the same amount of carries as Stevan Ridley, who has played 200 fewer snaps.
