Eagles Robbed Of A Touchdown Against Bears?

Sep 15, 2014 10:48 AM

The experts at Football Outsiders have determined, using a overhead blimp shot, that Eagles' running back Correll Buckhalter scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter against the Bears on Sunday night. A photo on the Outsiders' website reveals that a majority of the ball crossed the plane. Buckhalter ran on fourth-and-one with less than four minutes left and didn't appear as though he reached the end zone. The aforementioned blimp photo, clearly shows that the football crossed the goal line.

Eagles Allowing Asante To Be Asante

Aug 7, 2014 6:15 AM

The Eagles are letting Asante Samuel play cornerback the way he knows how, rather then cloud his mind with the numerous changes between the defenses of New England and Philadelphia. "What we?ve done a little bit is just let him do some of his stuff that?s made him such a good football player," Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson said Thursday. "It?s not like a rookie where you say, 'Do this, do that." "The biggest thing for him is just learning the defense and proper leverage and alignment, and where his help is," Johnson added. "That?s what you have to learn, but we?re still going to let him be Asante, too." Samuel, who signed a six-year, $57.14 million contract on the first day of free agency, has two interceptions in his first three games with Philadelphia. "They allow me to play to my strengths," Samuel said. "It?s a good thing for me, a good thing for the defense. I like to play my style. I like to make plays. I just want to continue to do that and put myself in the best position possible to do that."

Lovie Smith: Bears 'Need To Get A Win'

Oct 27, 2014 3:42 PM

Bears' Coach Lovie Smith believes that the team needs to beat the Eagles on Sunday night as they look to avoid falling into a 1-3 hole. "We need to get a win," Smith said. Chicago started the 2007 season 1-3, and never got above .500. In the eighteen seasons since the NFL expanded the playoffs to six teams per conference, only 20 of 128 teams started 1-3 yet qualified for the postseason.

Bears D: This Is As Good As We've Seen McNabb

Oct 27, 2014 3:42 PM

Bears defensive end Adewale Ogunleye believes that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is at the top of his game this season. "This is as good as I?ve seen Donovan in the last couple of years," Ogunleye said. "He?s really on top of his game, so we really have to get a [pass] rush with the front four guys and let the back end cover." McNabb recognizes his success, but has given credit to others. "I?ve had a lot of great starts [to] seasons," said McNabb. "I think the thing that really stands out this year is that we?re getting everyone involved." The Eagles will battle the Bears in Chicago this Sunday night.

Bears Like Orton Against Philly's Blitz

Oct 27, 2014 3:42 PM

The Bears believe that quarterback Kyle Orton will be able to handle Philadelphia's propensity to blitz this weekend, according to Northwest Herald. "You see a lot of different looks and, first of all, they've got great players on that side of the ball," Orton said. "Anytime you go up against that type of talent, it's going to be tough. We've got to be prepared to see anything and just try to execute from there." "As long as we execute, they shouldn't be able to get to the quarterback that often," Orton added. "It's just different philosophies on offense. [The Steelers] took their chances with dropping back and trying to get the ball out, and we'll try to handle it our way."

Sep 30, 2014 3:47 PM

Coach Andy Reid said the injury is "literally a day-to-day situation, and I'm sure it'll be a race to get him ready for Sunday." "I'm going to do everything that it takes - if it takes me being [in rehab at NovaCare] from 7 in the morning until 7 at night, that's what I'll do," Westbrook said. "If I can run, then I'm going to be out there," Westbrook added.

Ward: Eagles' Blitzing Confused Steelers

Jun 10, 2014 4:21 PM

Steelers' wide receiver Hines Ward says that the blitzing of the Eagles confused the team's offense on Sunday afternoon, according to Philadelphia Daily News. "[The Eagles' blitzing] really seemed to confuse us a little," Ward said. "I think today was a good old-fashioned butt-kicking." "I think this was about as frustrating a game as it could be. I think sometimes you don't want to press the issues too much this early in the season. I think we really had a lot of guys that were not on the same page. In a 60-minute game, you have to be on that same page. It's tough enough to win on the road." Philadelphia held Pittsburgh to just six points at Lincoln Financial Field.

Wilkinson is, on the show at least, one of Hugh Hefner's live-in girlfriends. Wilkinson, 23, and Baskett, 26, recently dined together at a restaurant near Philadelphia, and she was reportedly in attendance on Sunday.

Westbrook Has Ankle Strain, Will Have MRI

Aug 8, 2014 9:20 AM

Eagles' running back Brian Westbrook suffered a right ankle strain early in the team's win over the Steelers on Sunday, according to Philadelphia Inquirer. "Westbrook has an ankle strain. and he'll have an MRI in the morning," Coach Andy Reid said. "Off the X-rays, it's not fractured, but we'll do the MRI tomorrow and see what the deal is." Correll Buckhalter took over for Westbrook, scoring the only touchdown of the game on a 20-yard pass from Donovan McNabb. "Any time you have your star guy go down, it's tough," McNabb said. "But I thought Buck [Correll Buckhalter] and Book [Lorenzo Booker] did a good job of filling in. Everybody across the league knows we deal with Westbrook as our first or second option."

McNabb Sets Record, Westbrook Leaves

Oct 11, 2014 11:16 AM

Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb set the franchise mark for touchdown passes on Sunday against the Steelers while Brian Westbrook left the game in the second quarter with an undisclosed leg injury. McNabb completed a short pass to Correll Buckhalter that the backup running back turned into a 20-yard touchdown strike, the 176th scoring pass of the quarterback's career. Westbrook left the game early in the second quarter with an apparent right leg injury. He was injured after he landed oddly going against a rushing attempt. Jumping to avoid running into a downed lineman, Westbrook got his right leg caught under his body as he came to the ground. He was ushered into the locker room to have the injury looked at my team doctors. McNabb later left the game with a chest injury, placing Kevin Kolb behind center for Philadelphia. A few plays later, McNabb returned to the field.
