Mitts And Feeley Split Up

Sep 2, 2014 8:01 AM

Heather Mitts finally revealed Friday that she and Eagles quarterback A.J. Feeley split up months ago. But the U.S. Women's Soccer star says they may be in the process of reconciling. "We broke up in March and have been free to do whatever," Mitts confirmed. In April, she laughed off rumors that the couple had parted. "It's been hard for both of us with the long distance and other factors. Everybody makes mistakes and we love each other very much," Mitts e-mailed us Friday. They're getting together this week to "figure out what's best for us in the long run."

Garcia: "I Felt Personally Snubbed"

Nov 12, 2014 9:37 PM

"I think there was a lot of anger within myself," said Jeff Garcia, describing his feeling when the Eagles waived him goodbye after he led them into the playoffs last season as the very capable fill-in for the injured Donovan McNabb. "Here was finally a situation where I felt so comfortable and I felt like I had a good home and a good place, and I wanted to be able to experience more of that and, hopefully, not have to relocate all over again. That opportunity wasn't presented to me." A few minutes later, Garcia gave a more abbreviated version: "I felt personally snubbed." Garcia is with Jon Gruden's Tampa Bay Buccaneers now, the team's likely starter because the NFL doesn't throw around $5 million for backups.

McNabb Practices With Eagles Well Ahead Of Schedule

Sep 2, 2014 8:07 AM

Donovan McNabb took a major step forward in his return from knee surgery, practicing with the Philadelphia Eagles several weeks ahead of schedule. The five-time Pro Bowl quarterback participated in non-contact drills in his first action on the field since he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last Nov. 19. "It felt great to get back out there on the field with all of the guys," McNabb said. "It's just part of the rehab process and hopefully good things will continue to come. It's important to continue to monitor my progress, but also be smart about the whole situation." McNabb rehabbed vigorously since his latest injury ended his season early for the third time in five years. He had been throwing on the side for weeks and simulating practice movements, but hadn't been expected to take part in drills with the team until training camp opened next month.

L.J. Smith Undergoes Surgery For Sports Hernia

Oct 3, 2014 9:46 AM

The Eagles announced yesterday that tight end L.J. Smith underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a sports hernia, the same injury that eventually ended quarterback Donovan McNabb's 2005 season. Smith, who is entering the final year of his contract, will miss the team's final full-squad minicamp, which begins Tuesday and runs through June 14. The Eagles said his condition would be evaluated over the next several weeks to determine whether he will be ready for training camp.
