Jim Brown: "What Terrell Owens Did To Donovan Was Unconscionable"

Nov 3, 2014 2:12 AM

Jim Brown, one of the greatest athletes in United States history and also one of the most outspoken commented extensively on the Terrell Owens-Donovan McNabb situation that occurred last season. "What Terrell Owens did to Donovan was unconscionable," Brown told Stephen A. Smith on Wednesday. "More so because, to this day, people don't even realize what he did to Donovan. "Donovan had to be taken out of his position of leadership," Brown said. "He had to try to figure out how to get along with a guy that he did not like. Donovan had to deal with the management. He had to deal with the other players. He was put in a state where he didn't know who the hell he was or what stand he should take. Right and righteousness went out of the window. "He threw key interceptions. Donovan was unsure of himself. You had a split locker room, so he had to be very careful of the locker room. And so, therefore, what was in him but confusion? How do you know what to do when you can't just do the right thing? "African American partnerships are so necessary in the high-profile world of big money. When you have two brothers who can be positive and produce and demand big salaries and speak out on issues that are very valuable, that is so powerful in our culture. "What [Owens] did is take a quarterback, a black quarterback, and bring him down to confusion. He left us with nothing but a train wreck [in McNabb], when we are the underdogs that have to perform and conduct ourselves in a manner and use our money and intelligence and work in a keen way."

Colts Believe Simon Is Not Interested In Playing Football

Nov 3, 2014 2:12 AM

Defensive tackle Corey Simon was placed on the non-football illness-injury list last week by the Colts because the team believes he didn't want to play football, according to a source close to the situation. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in mid-August to repair some minor cartilage damage. The Colts had expected him back by the start of the season. But last week, he still was insisting his knee wasn't well enough for him to play. His weight, according to the source, also has been ballooning. When he played for the Eagles in 2004, he weighed about 305. When he signed with the Colts last season after sitting out training camp and all of the Eagles' offseason workouts, he was up to 325. Now, he's on the plus side of 350, the source said.

T.O. Upstaged By McNabb, Eagles 38-24

Jun 1, 2014 10:19 PM

With Terrell Owens watching from the sideline, Donovan McNabb turned ordinary receivers into big-time playmakers. As for T.O., the most overhyped homecoming in recent memory was totally ordinary: three catches, 45 yards, 0 drama. McNabb threw touchdown passes of 40 yards to Reggie Brown and 87 yards to Hank Baskett, and Lito Sheppard returned an interception 102 yards in the final minute to seal the Eagles' 38-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

T.O. Expects The Worst From Eagles' Fans

Feb 13, 2014 5:14 PM

Some fans will taunt him with prescription bottles. Others will wave derogatory signs. Many will chant: "O.D! O.D! O.D!" Most will scream expletives and boo. Terrell Owens is ready. "I'm probably the most hated guy coming into Philly this weekend, so I expect the worst," Owens said. "That's how passionate they are. When I was there, they were loving me. Now that I'm on the opposite side, they're going to be hating me. I expect that going in." Owens is returning to Philadelphia on Sunday to play against the Eagles for the first time since he got kicked off the team last November, was released in March and signed with the Cowboys.

T.O., McNabb At Odds Again

Jul 12, 2014 4:43 PM

Here they go again: Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb have their signals crossed. Days before the buddies-turned-enemies face off for the first time since their nasty breakup, a misunderstanding is brewing over a text message McNabb says he sent Owens last week after a trip to the hospital was reported as an attempted suicide. Owens said Wednesday he never got it. While he stopped short of calling McNabb a liar, the sour look on his face sure seemed to insinuate it.
