Raiders Thrilled With Their Deepest Team In Years

Jun 8, 2016 11:38 AM

The Oakland Raiders are entering 2016 with tremendous optimism.

Oakland has improved the quality of their starters while also building the type of tremendous depth they haven't had in years, according to a source.

When the Raiders cut their roster from 90 to 53, several of those players could end up with other teams.

The Raiders haven't reached the playoffs in 14 years.

Raiders Giving Derek Carr Freedom To Tweak Plays

Jun 6, 2016 11:27 AM

The Oakland Raiders plan to give Derek Carr some freedom to tweak offensive plays this season.

"I think it helps that he doesn't have to learn a new language again," second-year coordinator Bill Musgrave said. "Two years in the league, he had two different systems. Now, this year, he can feel like he has a good grasp of it and start putting his own spin on things and can put his own signature on the system. Things that he wants to see or tweak a quarter turn here or there, he can initiate that."

Carr, 25, had a 61.1 competition percentage, 3,987 yards, 32 touchdowns and 13 interceptions last season.
