Derek Carr Doesn't Expect Finger Injury To Cause Any Lingering Effects

Nov 29, 2016 12:03 AM

Derek Carr said his injured right pinkie still hurts and is swollen but he's not expecting any lingering effects.

"I'm doing good, I'm doing good," Carr told 95.7 The Game host JT The Brick. "Obviously, it's a little sore, but that's expected. But it should be good. Just get the swelling down, and it will be all right."

Carr offered no further details on the injury, which appeared to be a dislocation after a mistimed snap between Carr and center Rodney Hudson on the second play of the second half Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Davis said an X-ray was taken during the game.

Carr's brother David, an analyst for NFL Network, said on air Monday afternoon that the pinkie was dislocated in two places.

"When he originally went to the sidelines in kind of a mass panic, which put my entire family into a panic. ... They popped it back in, and they said, 'OK, does it feel better?'" the elder Carr said. "And he was like, 'No, it still feels pretty bad.' Then they realized that the second knuckle was also dislocated. That's when they went into the locker room, got the X-ray, and as soon as they got the X-ray, his only question was, 'Can I damage it any more?'"

City Of Oakland Announces Framework For Stadium Agreement

Nov 22, 2016 3:43 PM

The city of Oakland has reached a framework agreement with the Ronnie Lott group for a new stadium to keep the Raiders from relocating.

The deal does include the Raiders' participation.

"It is exciting that we have reached a conceptual framework agreement with the Lott group," said Mayor Libby Schaaf.

The agreement would need to be approved by the Board of Supervisors and the Oakland City Council before the groups could move forward.

Schaaf is scheduled to present the deal to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday in a closed-door session. It would then go to the Oakland City Council on Nov. 29, if it passes.

Davis reaffirmed in October that the Raiders will play the next two seasons at the Oakland Coliseum even if their move to Las Vegas is approved.

"We want to bring a Super Bowl championship back to the Bay Area," Davis said at the time.

Brock Osweiler Was 'Definitely' Distracted By Green Laser From Stands

Nov 22, 2016 8:11 AM

Brock Osweiler said a green laser that was shined onto the field and into his eyes on Monday night in Mexico City was "very distracting."

Throughout the game, someone in the stadium shined what appeared to be a green laser pointer on the field when the Houston Texans were on offense in the game against the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders won the game 27-20.

"I'm still gathering information on what exactly took place, but all I know at this point is, when we were out there on the field on offense, there were multiple times I saw a green laser coming from the stands," Osweiler said. "There were a couple of times it definitely hit me in the eye. And it was very noticeable.

"Certainly, having a laser zoomed in on your eyeball definitely affects how you play."

Osweiler said he had never experienced anything like that while playing football.

Roger Goodell: 'Ideal Scenario' Keeps Chargers, Raiders In Place

Nov 18, 2016 7:06 AM

Having both the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers remain in their current cities is the "ideal scenario" for the NFL, according to Roger Goodell.

There has been movement for the Chargers to join the Rams in Los Angeles and the Raiders to relocate to Las Vegas.

"If we get our issues resolved in San Diego, and our issues resolved in Oakland, I think that's the ideal solution, frankly," Goodell said. "I think that's what we would all like to see happen. But there's a lot that has to get done in those two communities to get there."

The Chargers' hopes of remaining in San Diego suffered a major setback last week, when the organization received only 43 percent approval for a proposed $1.8 billion stadium and convention center.

The Raiders would have the opportunity to join the Rams if the Chargers ultimately find a way to stay in San Diego, their home since 1961. Las Vegas approved $750 million in public funds to help build a new stadium for the Raiders, who must now get approval from three-quarters of the NFL owners in order to relocate.

League Office Wants To Prevent Relocation Of Raiders, Chargers

Nov 14, 2016 2:34 PM

The NFL league office wants to avoid having the Oakland Raiders relocate to Las Vegas and the San Diego Chargers moving to Los Angeles.

The league is concerned with the Chargers becoming the Clippers to the Rams' Lakers if they move to Los Angeles. San Diego voters rejected a plan to build a downtown stadium, which could leave the Spanos family with Mission Valley as their best option.

There are also concerns with the Raiders leaving the economic wealth of the Bay Area along with their longtime passionate fan base for Las Vegas.

Mark Davis would likely need a partner to build a new stadium in the Bay Area.

NFL Now Has 10 Teams In Marijuana-Legal States

Nov 9, 2016 1:36 PM

With Tuesday's elections, 10 NFL teams play in a state where marijuana has been legalized medically or recreationally.

California and Massachusetts joined Washington and Colorado as states where marijuana can be consumed for any purpose. If the Raiders relocate to Las Vegas, that won't change as Nevada has legalized marijuana for recreational purposes.

Florida is one of various states to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes.

The NFL previously justified their ongoing ban because federal law considers marijuana as a controlled substance.

The 49ers, Raiders, Rams, Chargers and Patriots joined the Seahawks, Broncos, Jaguars, Dolphins and Buccaneers.

Raiders Hope To Extend Derek Carr In Offseason

Nov 7, 2016 8:07 PM

The Oakland Raiders are prioritizing an extension for Derek Carr this offseason that could "be Luck-ish" in dollars.

Andrew Luck signed a five-year, $123 million extension in the offseason.

Carr is completing 66.3 percent of his passes and has a passer rating of 100.9 for the Raiders.

The Raiders will also have Khalil Mack's contract coming up in 2018 and may have to use their franchise tag on the linebacker or Carr.
