Derek Carr's Finger Injury Downplayed By Agent

May 21, 2015 1:29 PM

The agent for Derek Carr has downplayed the seriousness of his injured ring finger.

"It's a very minor situation," agent Tim Younger told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I think he's probably going to be throwing before the end of [the Raiders' offseason workouts]."

Carr has experienced numbness in the finger, a source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen, a condition that can be nerve-related.

Christian Ponder is working with the first team in organized team activities, with Carr on the sideline.

Raiders Have No Interest In Moving To St. Louis

May 20, 2015 12:55 AM

Mark Davis has no interest in moving the Oakland Raiders to St. Louis.

The St. Louis Rams are considering moving to Los Angeles and there could be a stadium plan in place for a potential NFL team in that city.

Davis wishes to keep the Raiders in Oakland, though a significant gap in the funding of a new stadium in the Bay Area remains a looming problem.

The Raiders are also working on a potential stadium plan in Carson, California.

NFL Optimistic Team Will Move To L.A. By 2016

May 20, 2015 12:41 PM

The NFL has a growing confidence that a team will relocate to Los Angeles by 2016.

One source said they’re “confident there’ll be multiple options” and that’s no surprise, given Rams owner Stan Kroenke’s Hollywood Park project and the Carson project, which is being spearheaded by former 49ers executive Carmen Policy, as a potential home for the Raiders and Chargers.

The progress in St. Louis is described as “steady,” while Oakland has “moved backward since March.”

Raiders Release James Jones

May 4, 2015 1:56 PM

The Oakland Raiders have released James Jones.

The Raiders signed Jones to a three-year, $10 million deal in 2014.

The Raiders, who have about $20 million in remaining salary-cap room, will save about $3.4 million in cap space by releasing Jones.

Jones was valuable for Oakland last season, with 73 catches for 666 yards.

Amari Cooper was the Raiders first round pick last week and figures to have a big role immediately at wide receiver.
