The San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders are moving forward on a plan to build a $1.7 billion stadium in Carson, which is located south of Los Angeles.

The Chargers and Raiders will continue to seek public subsidies for new stadiums in their home markets, but they are developing a detailed proposal for a privately financed Los Angeles venue.

This latest high-stakes move was precipitated by St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke, who announced in December his plan to build an 80,000-seat stadium on the land that used to be Hollywood Park.

Julius Thomas' Father Criticizes Manning, Elway

Feb 18, 2015 1:32 PM

The father of Julius Thomas has criticized Peyton Manning and his treatment by the Denver Broncos' organization.

"Don't blame (John) Fox for (John) Elway giving Peyton the reigns and making him uncoachable, unapproachable and bigger than the TEAM," wrote Greg Thomas on Jan. 12.

"Too bad Fox didn't have the power to bench Manning. Using (Brock) Osweiler would have been a great transition for Franchise's future."

Greg Thomas also wrote in an email: "It’ll be totally classic to see him come back to Denver in Silver & Black and rip the Broncos and their loser fans a new one."

Derek Carr Excited To Run No-Huddle Offense In 2015

Feb 13, 2015 10:48 AM

Derek Carr is excited to run more no-huddle offense in 2015 under Bill Musgrave.

Musgrave comes to the Oakland Raiders as offensive coordinator from the Philadelphia Eagles.

"We're not going to be all no-huddle, but it is going to be a big part of what we do," he said Tuesday, per ESPN.com's Bill Williamson. "And I'm really excited with the coaches' plans."

Carr was a little bored by the Raiders' slow pace last season.

"Sometimes, the games were really slow for me," Carr said Tuesday. "It was almost like I was waiting for it to speed up."

Carr said his comfort with no-huddle stems from his college days, when he threw for more than 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in his senior season.

"My last two years at Fresno State were 100 percent no-huddle, and I love it. I'm very comfortable in it," Carr said. "They are building this offense around me, and I'm really excited about it. I lit up when they told me."

Ndamukong Suh Would Prefer To Sign With Seahawks

Feb 6, 2015 6:26 PM

Ndamukong Suh would prefer to sign with the Seattle Seahawks, which would allow him to play close to his hometown of Portland for a clear Super Bowl contenders.

The Seahawks could struggle to fit him in due to the number of their own impending free agents they must work to sign.

The Oakland Raiders are another contender for Suh and could "overbid" to land him.

Tuck: Khalil Mack Capable Of Hall Of Fame Career

Feb 3, 2015 11:18 AM

Justin Tuck believes Khalil Mack can have a Hall of Fame career for the Oakland Raiders.

"I've watched a lot of film on guys like Derrick Thomas, Lawrence Taylor ... I'm not saying that he will be that player, I'm saying he's capable of being that player," Tuck said last week, per ESPN.com. "Believe me, I know what praise I just gave him. I know what category I just potentially put him into.

"The thing I love about him that people don't get to see every day is not the fact that he's an absolute physical specimen," Tuck continued. "It's not that. It's that he's smart, he understands the game, but he also understands that he doesn't know it all."

Aaron Donald beat out C.J. Mosley and Mack to win Defensive rookie of the Year.
