The Arizona Cardinals are interested in landing Carson Palmer, but they won't overpay the Oakland Raiders for the veteran quarterback.

Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reported that the Cardinals will deal for Palmer "only if it doesn't cost them much."

Arizona is looking to swap late-round draft picks with Oakland, "possibly conditional on how, or if, Palmer plays."

The Oakland Raiders are expected to soon finalize their acquisition of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Flynn.

It was reported late last week that Oakland was close to landing the veteran in a trade.

The two teams have haggled over draft-pick compensation.

The defensive lineman signed a seven-year, $50.1 million contract in 2008 and was set to make $6.5 million in 2013.

Darrius Heyward-Bey will reportedly visit the Detroit Lions on Wednesday.

Detroit has long been looking for a complement to star wide receiver Calvin Johnson.

Heyward-Bey was taken by the Oakland Raiders with the seventh overall pick in 2009.
