Raiders To Give Terrelle Pryor Additional Time For Evaluation

Jul 13, 2014 7:43 PM

The Oakland Raiders have been encouraged by the play of Matt McGloin, but Dennis Allen wants to further evaluate Terrelle Pryor over the final four games of the season.

It is unclear if Pryor may have a chance to start, or if he'll have a limited set of packages.

"I think we want to try to see more of (Pryor) at some point," Allen said Friday, via CSN Bay Area. "Injuries are a tough thing. They're hard to account for. You don't know how things are going to respond and how quickly people are going to get back.

"With the short week, and again, only having 20 plays in the second half, we weren't able to get him involved in the offense," Allen added. "But I think that's something we want to look at moving forward, but we'll see how that plays out."

Raiders To Start Matt McGloin Against Cowboys

Jul 10, 2014 1:08 AM

The Oakland Raiders will start Matt McGloin at quarterback on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys.

"Yeah, I thought Matt played well," Dennis Allen said. "And for him to lead us back when we needed a touchdown, he got us the touchdown we needed to give us the lead. We just couldn't hold it defensively."

McGloin is an undrafted rookie who completed 19 of his 32 pass attempts for 260 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Raiders' loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Terrelle Pryor has been spectacular at times this season, but has been injured and also had a string of disappointing performances with a quarterback rating no higher than 55.7 since the beginning of October.

Raiders Concerned About Terrelle Pryor's Knee Injury

Oct 31, 2014 3:45 PM

The Oakland Raiders are concerned about the state of Terrelle Pryor's injured knee.

Pryor was limited by the injury suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9 in the Raiders' loss to the New York Giants.

"It wasn't something that we thought was going to be a big factor going into the game. But, obviously, it was a factor," Allen told reporters, per the Bay Area News Group.

"It was obvious that there wasn't that explosiveness that we had seen out of him prior to the injury. I'll sit down and visit with Terrelle a little bit more and find out exactly where he is physically."

Pryor said his knee felt stable after the game.
