Terrelle Pryor Would Be Perfect QB For Kelly's System

Jul 7, 2014 11:01 AM

When Terrelle Pryor was coming out of high school, he strongly considered committing to Oregon before eventually deciding upon Ohio State.

With Chip Kelly now head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Pryor appears to be the ideal quarterback for that offense.

"That offense is tailor-made for Terrelle," said Ray Reitz, who coached Pryor at Jeannette High School in western Pennsylvania. "He can run. He can throw. He's big and strong. He's the total package. I think he'd flourish in that offense."

"Chip was one of my favorites," Pryor said in a conference call. "I probably would have been with him if he was a little closer. It's pretty out there, Oregon was, and it wasn't a good distance for my family. That wasn't a good deal for me."

"There are two guys that I've had an opportunity to coach against - Cam Newton and Terrelle Pryor - that when you look at them, they kind of look like an NBA power forward, but they can run," said Pryor.

Terrelle Pryor Became Better QB Over Bye Week

Jul 3, 2014 12:33 AM

Terrelle Pryor had a productive bye week, spending two days with offensive coordinator Greg Olson and quarterbacks coach John DeFliippo watching video and getting a better graph of "situational football."

Pryor also used another day work with Tom House, who is a mechanics guru.

“I wasn’t exploding as much as I should be,” Pryor said. “That was the main thing, getting my balance and getting my ear back there all the time and sitting on the back foot. That was a thing we really attacked and got better at as that bye week progressed.”

Pryor felt confident that he is coming out of the bye week a better quarterback.

“I got better,” Pryor said. “It was a great time to get some work in. I didn’t really get any days off. There’s no time to get off anyways. You have to work constantly to improve."

Jason Tarver Developing 'Mad Scientist' Reputation As Raiders' DC

Oct 31, 2014 7:24 AM

Jason Tarver, defensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders, has a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from UCLA.

“Yeah, a lab coat, glasses, pens in his pocket,” joked Charles Woodson. “I can see the whole thing.

“It’s been fun for me playing under him, and I know we can get better with him.”

The Raiders' defense has become quick, unpredictable and successful. It has also become the strength of the team.

“You turn bad into good, good into great,” Tarver said this week. “You guys have heard that from me before and that’s what we’re trying to do. The last three weeks it’s turned closer to good, but we’ve got to turn it into great.”

Raiders Believe Pryor Worth Building Around

Oct 31, 2014 2:59 PM

The Oakland Raiders believe Terrelle Pryor may not only be their quarterback of the present, but also their future.

"He's still a young player," Dennis Allen said Monday. "He's still got a lot of growing to do and a lot of getting better to do. He's a talented player and we're going to continue to try to build with him and try to grow with him."

The Raiders drafted Pryor with a supplemental pick in 2011 and may bypass a quarterback in the first round of what is expected to be a deep draft at the position.

Pryor To Use Bye Week Working With QB Guru

Jun 9, 2014 7:38 PM

Terrelle Pryor will work with quarterback guru Tom House in Los Angeles during the Oakland Raiders' Week 7 bye.

House is known for working with Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Tim Tebow.

Pryor wants to avoid a regression similar to that of Tebow.

"Tebow looked great, he was throwing the ball great, wasn't missing anything," Pryor said House told him, per ESPN.com. "Then they said he went to (training) camp, and when he went back, he reverted back to himself because (that's) when the bullets are flying at you."
