Raiders Hire Wylie As O-Line Coach

The Raiders have hired longtime assistant Bob Wylie as their new offensive line coach. Oakland announced the move Monday, with head coach Hue Jackson calling Wylie a "spectacular teacher, motivator and drill sergeant." Wylie spent last season sharing offensive line coaching duties for the Broncos.

Rolando McClain's Car Shot At In Alabama

Oakland linebacker Rolando McClain was shot at while visiting his hometown in Alabama. McClain said there was a group of people standing on a corner, and one of them started shooting at his SUV. Investigators found one round stuck in the rear hatch of McClain's Chevrolet Tahoe. The bullet did not hit any of the passengers inside.

The Raiders have officially hired longtime NFL assistant Al Saunders as their offensive coordinator. Saunders spent the past two seasons as an offensive consultant in Baltimore. He went 17-22 in two-plus seasons as head coach for the Chargers from 1986-88.

The Raiders hired former Ravens assistant coach Al Saunders as their offensive coordinator, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday. Saunders was given permission to talk to the Raiders by Ravens coach John Harbaugh, who said Tuesday he would never want to deny a coach an opportunity. "Obviously you never want to lose really good coaches," Harbaugh said. "Al Saunders is a great coach and a great man. He's tremendous and he's been huge for us."

Hue Jackson has kicked off his head coaching career with the Raiders by saying the team plans to bull others beginning next season. "We're going to build a bully here," Jackson said. "This is the Raiders. We know exactly where we're headed and what we want to do. I think our players today are very excited about where they are going." Jackson was introduced at a 100-minute news conference by owner Al Davis two weeks after the Raiders announced they were not picking up the option to retain Tom Cable as coach. He spent one season as Oakland's offensive coordinator.

Raiders Fined Cable $120K During 2010 Season

Former Raiders coach Tom Cable was fined $120,000 during the season by owner Al Davis, according to league sources. Davis deducted $20,000 from Cable's last six game checks. In turn, Cable filed a grievance against his owner. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will appoint an arbitrator to whom the Raiders and Cable will have to submit legal arguments and witnesses. As Oakland was enjoying its best season since 2002, Cable and Davis were barely communicating. Davis was said to be upset with Cable over the fact that Oakland lost two days of OTAs in June 2010, among other things.
