The Raiders scored a team-record 59 points in a thrashing of the Broncos on Sunday afternoon. Oakland scored the most points in their 50-year history behind four touchdowns from running back Darren McFadden. "I expected this to be a street fight," Raiders coach Tom Cable said. "It started like that and we made sure it didn't go any further." McFadden scored on a pair of 4-yard runs and a 19-yard reception in the first half and on a 57-yard run in the second.

Raiders OC Takes Blame For Performance

Oct 31, 2014 8:34 AM

With the Raiders only recording 83 yards through the air and a total of 179, offensive coordinator Hue Jackson took responsibility for the performance. Jackson said he is "licking my wounds" and that while he disagrees that the play-calling was too conservative, he did say that the loss is "on me." "We didn't play well, period" Jackson said. "There is no excuse. I take full responsibility for that. We didn't uphold our end of the bargain, and that's not fair to our football team, to the defense, who I thought fought hard."

Raiders May Start Boller At Quarterback

Jul 11, 2014 3:17 PM

Raiders coach Tom Cable admitted on Monday that Kyle Boller could start at quarterback on Sunday against the Broncos. Bruce Gradkowski is dealing with a shoulder injury and Jason Campbell has a sprained left knee. Boller said he feels he would be ready to go even though he has gotten almost no practice time with the first-string offense since the start of the season. "I've pretty much stayed on top of it over the last six weeks and that's part of your job," Boller said. "Doesn't matter if you're a starter, second-stringer or third-stringer. You have to always be into the game plan and doing just the same things the starter's doing so I don't think I'll miss a beat."

Crabtree Anxious To Play Oakland After Draft Snub

Apr 29, 2014 7:29 PM

Michael Crabtree is anxious to face the Raiders for the first time in his career, 18 months after the team picked Darrius Heyward-Bey instead of him. "Of course you think about it," Crabtree said. "Anytime someone gets picked ahead of you, you think about it." Crabtree was widely considered the best wide receiver in the draft. "I'm not worried about Darrius," Crabtree said. "I'm focused on winning the game. But at the same time, I'm thinking about the Raiders." "Without question, we're proud of it," Raiders coach Tom Cable said of their pick. "Certainly it was questioned last year, and maybe rightly so just in terms of production, but I think he's turning that around quickly." "I wouldn't say I was stunned, it's one of those things that happened," Crabtree said. "I guess it is what it is, but you'll always have that in the back of your mind when you play them. "Yeah, it's going to be big this week."
