Eric Decker Out For Week 4 With Torn Rotator Cuff

Sep 30, 2016 2:02 PM

Eric Decker won't play in Week 4 for the New York Jets against the Seattle Seahawks.

Decker has been diagnosed with a partially torn rotator cuff.

Todd Bowles called it a "week-to-week" injury, indicating that surgery isn't planned at this time.

Decker was injured in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, but he played in every offensive snap last Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. He caught only one pass in the game.

Todd Bowles: Jets Had 'Come-To-Jesus Meeting' After Loss

Sep 28, 2016 9:16 AM

The New York Jets had an important meeting after Sunday's blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

"Anytime you lose like that, you have to have a come-to-Jesus meeting," Todd Bowles said.

Ryan Fitzpatrick had a 45.5% completion percentage and threw six interceptions in the loss.

"It's a hard day for me to come in today," the quarterback said. "We lost that game because of my performance. We don't need to pin it on anything else. That was pretty evident. To walk in today and face the guys, it's not an easy thing to do. But at the same time, I've got to be the same guy every day as a leader, as a player."

Brandon Marshall 'Thought It Was Over' During Injury Scare

Sep 16, 2016 9:08 AM

Brandon Marshall briefly exited Thursday night's game after suffering a slight knee sprain.

He returned to the field about 15 minutes later, but the incident scared the New York Jets wide receiver.

"I thought it was over," Marshall said. "I thought I'd be fishing in my backyard in Florida."

He was brought down by the facemask following a catch early in the second quarter. Marshall's knee appeared to be twisted as he was brought down, and he appeared to be in considerable pain immediately after the hit.

"I thought he was down for the count," Todd Bowles said.

Brandon Marshall Believes TV Work Led Bears To Trade Him

Sep 1, 2016 11:46 AM

Brandon Marshall said in an interview with The MMQB that he believes his in-season television work on Showtime's "Inside the NFL" played a role in the Chicago Bears' decision to trade him to the New York Jets in the 2015 offseason.

"When I sat down with [general manager] Ryan Pace and coach John Fox, we met, and I asked, 'What do you guys think about this?' It was a big topic," Marshall told the website. "And Ryan Pace said, 'Well, we can do that in the offseason.' So I was like, 'Well, what about half the season?' 'No.' 'What about once or twice?' 'No.' 'What about bye week?' 'No, you can do that in the offseason.'

"Right then, I knew I wouldn't be a Bear anymore, because I think that the business of the NFL is growing every single day, and players are being told to stay in a box and just play football, and we're missing out on a lot of opportunities, not only to grow as men and businessmen but to experience different things."

Marshall was traded along with a seventh round pick to the Jets for a fifth rounder.
