Marshall Wants Jets To Re-Sign Ryan Fitzpatrick, Not Pursue Kap

Feb 4, 2016 11:50 AM

Brandon Marshall would prefer the New York Jets to re-sign Ryan Fitzpatrick rather than pursue Colin Kaepernick.

"I don't want Kaepernick," Marshall told ESPN's First Take on Wednesday morning. "I think he's good. My guy's Fitz. It's nothing against Kaepernick, but what I'm saying is that I have my quarterbacks and I'm good."

Kaepernick would like to move on from the San Francisco 49ers and the Jets are reportedly his preferred destination.

"The second half of Ryan Fitzpatrick's career is going to be amazing," Marshall said, "because he's with his guy Chan Gailey and he really owns this offense. And that's what you want out of the quarterback position."

Colin Kaepernick Prefers Move To Jets

Feb 3, 2016 1:50 PM

Colin Kaepernick would like to move on from the San Francisco 49ers and his preferred team are the New York Jets.

Kaepernick was benched midway through last season by the 49ers and the team hired Chip Kelly this offseason.

The Jets are intrigued by Kaepernick's interest but are still in the early stages of their offseason planning and are afraid of tampering.

The Jets are interested in re-signing Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Kaepernick would have to be traded to the Jets or sign there if he's released.

Jed York declared last week that there’s “no question” in his mind that Kaepernick can re-gain his job as the starter.

"I've always had a very, very high opinion of Kap,” York said. “Kap's a great kid. He's done a lot of great things for us. Again, this is a fresh start for everybody."

Jets' offensive coordinator Chan Gailey has had success with dual-threat quarterbacks.
