The Jets have foiled Baltimore's plans of re-signing Trevor Pryce. New York has agreed to a contract with Pryce, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Jets head coach Rex Ryan coached Pryce when he was an assistant in Baltimore.

Texans owner Bob McNair lobbied for his franchise to appear on HBO's 'Hard Knocks' before the 2010 season, but the Jets were eventually chosen. ?I really haven?t seen them, but from what everybody tells me they were very controversial,? McNair told FOXSports.com about New York?s Hard Knocks appearances. ?A lot of things weren?t viewed as being very complimentary. ?We are not a showboat kind of team. We want to do our job and let that speak for itself. We don?t have to hype it. It might be that HBO wants you to hype things more. I don?t know if that would work for us.?

A league source tells NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that Jets' safety Eric Smith has been fined $7,500 for unnecessarily striking a defenseless receiver. The play in question was Smith's hit on New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker during the first quarter of New York's 28-14 win on Sunday. Welker was slow to get up following the play, but later returned to to the game. Smith was suspended one game and fined $50,000 for a "flagrant violation of player safety rules" for a play involving receiver Anquan Boldin in 2008.

The Dolphins claimed offensive tackle Patrick Brown off waivers from the Jets on Friday. Last week, the Patriots claimed Danny Woodhead off waivers from the Jets just one day before facing them in New Jersey.

Darrelle Revis will not play for the Jets on Sunday against the Dolphins, Rex Ryan said after practice Wednesday. "We felt that we might as well let you know now that Revis is not to where he can play," Ryan said of Revis, who aggravated a tight left hamstring in Sunday's win over the Patriots. "He's itching to get back, but it's too risky of a proposition to put him out there," Ryan said.

Braylon Edwards won?t start against Miami in four days after being charged with driving while intoxicated, New York Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum said. ?When he plays will be determined by coach Ryan,? Tannenbaum told the National Football League team?s website. Edwards?s breath test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.15, almost twice the state?s legal limit of 0.08, Sarubbi said. ?We?ll let everything run its course,? Tannenbaum said. ?When the case is fully adjudicated, he will be subject to disciplinary measures under the NFL?s substance abuse policy.?

Braylon Edwards was arrested for drunk driving in Manhattan early Tuesday morning, police said. Edwards was pulled over after he was seen driving erratically in a vehicle with heavily tinted windows at 34th St. and Twelfth Ave. at 5:13 a.m., according to cops. Edwards, who had one passenger, blew more than .10 on a Breathalyzer test of blood-alcohol content. The legal limit is .08.

Terrell Owens took to Twitter to criticize Darrelle Revis of the Jets, who singled out him and Randy Moss as 'slouch' receivers. Moss beat Revis on a touchdown catch during Sunday's game. "I see the 'revis island' gettin exposed!" Owens wrote. "Now his hammy is hurting!!"

Revis said he wasn?t sure when he would be back from his injured hamstring, although the ailment wasn?t classified as a pull or a tear.

New York Jets' owner Woody Johnson likely will spend a minimum of $160,000 if the league-wide training program he is underwriting in the wake of the Jets' locker room controversy is outsourced by the league. Commissioner Roger Goodell cited the Jets for "unprofessional conduct" Friday in the NFL's report on the treatment of TV Azteca reporter Ines Sainz.
