The Jets tried to trade up in last weekend's NFL Draft to select defensive end Chris Long, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
They couldn't come to terms with the Rams on deal for the number two selection, landing Long in St. Louis.

Jets Baker Upset Over Drafting Of TE
The New York Jets' Chris Baker is upset with the team for drafting another tight end Dustin Keller in last weekend's draft, according to ESPN.com.
Baker is the third-highest paid player on the team but doesn't seem to have much job security after watching the team trade up to grab Keller.
"I'm angry about the fact that they said, 'We're going to do something for you,' and nothing's being done," Baker said, according to the New York Post. "It doesn't make any sense. I've been here six years, and I've always done what they've asked me to do."
Jets Trade DT Robertson To Broncos
The New York Jets have traded defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson to the Denver Broncos for a late-round conditional draft choice in the 2009, according to Adam Schefter of the NFL Network.
Robertson is a five year veteran and was the fourth overall pick by the Jets in 2003.
The Jets Don't Have Faith In Clemens
The Jets are not all that confident in the talents of quarterback Kellen Clemens, according to a report in the Star-Ledger (New Jersey).
New York is concerned that he was a "system quarterback" at Oregon despite his strong arm.
The lack of confidence in Clemens has led many to believe that the Jets could target a quarterback, maybe even Matt Ryan, in this weekend's draft.
Jets Could Move Up For McFadden?
Darren McFadden could become a member of the New York Jets on Saturday.
"I feel like if I'm there at No. 6, they're going to take me," McFadden.
The Jets may try to trade up for McFadden, according to a league source.
Many believe the Raiders will take McFadden with the 4th overall pick if he's available.

The Jets have met with Darren McFadden three times over the last month and are becoming enamored with the running back, according to the New York Daily News.
The Jets have the sixth pick in next weekend's NFL Draft.
New York even took McFadden out for a night on the town, including a a trip to dinner and a boxing event in Manhattan.
Report: Jets Give Rhodes Huge Deal
The Jets signed safety Kerry Rhodes to a five-year, $33.5 million contract extension on Wednesday, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
The deal includes roughly $20 million in guaranteed money.
A team spokesman wouldn't confirm the deal on Thursday morning, but two people with knowledge of the agreement were in contact with the Daily News.
