Giants Will Roll With Tight End By Committee

Sep 12, 2014 9:37 PM

The New York Giants appear comfortable patching together the tight end position for the 2014 season.

"I think the jury is still out on who the No. 1 tight end is, I think it'll probably be tight end by committee," he said on WFAN this afternoon. "But there are some really good tight ends, some athletic, big guys who can run and catch the ball.

"Adrien Robinson and Larry Donnell are a couple of young guys who have been on the squad for a couple of years, but have had some injury stuff going on with them. We expect them to be healthy and to be able to pick up the slack here."

Eli Manning Working On New Offense For First Time In Career

Sep 3, 2014 8:59 AM

The New York Giants have basically run the same offense since Eli Manning arrived in 2004, but he's learning a whole new system under Ben McAdoo.

"It has definitely felt different," Manning said Tuesday after the first day of minicamp. "There's a lot of learning. The past several years, you never had too many surprises. You could be positive how it was going to turn out or what a guy might do versus this coverage or thinking about protections and stuff -- all of that was second nature. Now, you kind of have to slowly think through it the first time you're doing some things."

Jon Beason Fractures Foot, Could Be Out 12 Weeks

Jun 30, 2014 2:37 AM

Jon Beason suffered a ligament tear and a small fracture to the sesamoid in his right foot during the New York Giants' OTA on Thursday.

His recovery could take 12 weeks, according to NFL Network.

"The prognosis is 'X' amount of time and it [the Sept. 8 opener] is within that timeframe," Beason said, in a press release issued by the team. "I expect to be back [for that game]. If not, I'll be back as soon as I can. That's really how you have to look at it. If it's not 16 [games played], maybe it's 15 or 14. Whatever it is, you want it to be that number as opposed to one."

Beason had injury issues in 2011 and 2012, but he played in all 12 games last year after the Giants acquired him from the Carolina Panthers in a trade.

The Giants re-signed the three-time Pro Bowler to a three-year, $16.8 million contract in March.

Giants Release Will Hill After Another Drug Suspension

Jul 13, 2014 5:37 AM

The New York Giants have waived Will Hill after his third drug suspension in three years.

The NFL announced Friday that Hill would be suspended for the first six games of the 2014 season due to his latest violation of the league's substance abuse policy. Hill also missed the first four games of the 2013 season and four games during the 2012 season for drug violations.

Hill emerged as a productive safety last season after his suspension and was slated to start alongside Antrel Rolle.

Hill was a standout at the University of Florida, but he went undrafted as a result of off-field concerns. The Giants knew of those risks when they signed Hill as an undrafted free agent.
