Giants To Seriously Consider Johnny Manziel If He Slides To No. 12

Oct 27, 2014 9:16 AM

The New York Giants will seriously consider drafting Johnny Manziel if he slides to them at 12th overall, according to a source.

The Giants are high on both Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater, but they're still unlikely to select a quarterback.

Eli Manning is 33 and is coming off his worst season in the NFL. Manning also underwent ankle surgery this offseason and is signed through 2015.

"If there is a quarterback up there when we're picking at the right time, we won't be afraid to pick him," general manager Jerry Reese said at the NFL Combine. "I don't think it's going to present itself in the first round. But we're not afraid."

Giants Exercise Fifth-Year Option On Prince Amukamara

Nov 4, 2014 2:49 AM

The New York Giants have exercised their fifth-year option on Prince Amukamara.

Amukamara was taken 19th overall in the 2011 draft.

Amukamara's option price tag is likely a little bit north of $7 million, a somewhat steep price for a good yet hardly elite defensive back.
