Victor Cruz Suffers Torn Patella Tendon

Nov 5, 2014 1:11 AM

The New York Giants saw their receiving group take a huge hit on Sunday night when Victor Cruz injured his knee against the Philadelphia Eagles.

On fourth down, midway through the third quarter, the Giants went for it with Eli Manning targeting Cruz in the corner of the end zone. Cruz buckled in mid-air, grabbing his knee, as the ball sailed just over his finger tips.

He was in visible pain as he was carted off the field and NBC reported soon after that he suffered a torn patella tendon in his right knee. The Giants later confirmed the report.

Rashad Jennings Won't Need Surgery, Out Several Weeks

Oct 10, 2014 3:31 AM

Rashad Jennings won't need surgery to repair his injured left knee, but an MRI on Monday revealed a sprained MCL, and Jennings is expected to miss at least a few weeks with the injury.

Rookie Andre Williams will take over in the meantime as the Giants' starting running back, with Peyton Hillis serving as his backup.

"We're all hoping this young man is a fast healer with the way he conditions himself and takes care of himself," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said of Jennings. "But we'll see."

Jennings is fourth in the NFL in rushing yards this year with 396 and third in carries with 91.

Donnell had 54 yards and three touchdowns against Washington, but he instead started Vernon Davis. Davis left the game injured after catching two balls for eight yards.

"Would've won if I played me," Donnell told The Record after practice Wednesday. "During the game, I'm like, 'Really?' That's the honest truth."
