Pierre-Paul Denies Being Out Of Shape In 2012

Aug 3, 2014 8:44 PM

Jason Pierre-Paul denies that he was out of shape last season.

After recording 16.5 sacks in 2011, Pierre-Paul had just 6.5 sacks in 2012.

Tom Coughlin said at the owners meeting in Arizona, "He didn't play as well as the year before. ... He was big when he came to camp. There's not a lot of body fat [with Pierre-Paul], yes, but still."

"I was always in great shape," Pierre-Paul said. "I'm still the same size this year. People say I look slimmer but I'm the same weight.

"I was not big last year," he added. "I was 273 and I'm 274 now. If they want me to lose weight, I can do it that fast."

The Giants haven't engaged in formal discussions with Jacobs and they don't appear to be in a rush to do so.

Aaron Ross Apologizes To Jacksonville For 'Vacation' Comment

Oct 1, 2014 6:39 PM

Aaron Ross has gotten himself in hot water for saying that his one-year stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars was essentially a paid vacation.

"I really apologize if Jag nation took offense to it," Ross said. "I loved the opportunity that they gave me, they gave me a second chance to live my dream."

The defensive back played for the Giants from 2007-2011 and then returned this offseason.

Ross, who had a disappointing season in Jacksonville after signing there as a free agent, said he wasn't trying to suggest with his "vacation" comment that he wasn't giving maximum effort to the Jaguars.

"The only reason I said the vacation thing is because it was such a short turnaround for me to [come] back home with the Giants, it felt like [being away on] a vacation. I definitely didn't mean any harm to Jacksonville city or the fans or disrespect to the organization. I have the utmost respect for that organization," Ross said.
