Victor Cruz hurt his neck after making a 6-yard reception in the third quarter of the New York Giants' win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He went to the locker room for X-rays, which were negative. 

“It was a little scary,” said Cruz. “Obviously, any time you get hurt and feel a little pain it’s scary, but through the grace of God I was good.” 

Cruz ultimately returned to the game, finishing with seven receptions for a team-high 86 yards.

The New York Giants will work out Peyton Hillis and Danny Ware as they manage injuries to their backfield.

David Wilson is out for at least three more weeks with a neck injury.

Brandon Jacobs has performed well in his return, while Andre Brown hasn't played since breaking his leg in the preseason.

The New York Giants have acquired Jon Beason in a trade with the Carolina Panthers.

David Wilson will again become the primary ball-carrier of the New York Giants this week following the release of Da'Rel Scott.

Brandon Jacobs will be Wilson's complement.

"He did have a nice run the other day," Tom Coughlin said. "When called up, he's still a powerful guy that we're going to utilize in those short-yardage and goal line situations. He actually played on a lot of special teams and contributed a week ago."

The New York Giants have waived Da'Rel Scott.

Scott had 56 rushing yards on 10 carries, which is second to David Wilson's 130 yards. Scott also had 10 receptions for 98 yards.

Scott was a seventh round pick in 2011 out of Maryland.
