Umenyiora did not show up on Friday when players reported to camp and he was not with the team Saturday morning during their first walk-through. He wants a new contract or a trade to a team that will give him a new deal. He has two years remaining at a total of $8 million.

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has restructured his contract, opening the door for fellow rusher Ahmad Bradshaw to return to the team. Jacobs was scheduled to make $4.65 million for the 2011 season.

The Giants have signed coach Tom Coughlin to a contract extension that runs through the 2012 season. New York president and CEO John Mara said at the end of last season that Coughlin would remain as coach and receive an extension after finishing with a 10-win season.
