Giants coach Tom Coughlin is not satisfied with his team as they season approaches.
"I expected more, you know, I did," Coughlin said. "I can give you page after page about effort, but what I am going to say is there is effort, and then, there is the kind of intensity a guy brings to the table when you are playing the game to solidify your team, your circumstance and your individual position."
New York (1-2) has been beaten soundly in back-to-back preseason games.

Eli Returns To Practice With New Helmet
Eli Manning returned to practice on Wednesday with his new helmet for the first time since suffering a forehead gash that required a dozen stitches.
"It's just a different helmet, nothing special about it," Manning said. "There's no new padding or anything; just a little bit different helmet with a chinstrap that buttons a little different than the way I used to, just to ensure that it's on tight."
Mangold, Jets Agree On $55M Deal
The Jets and center Nick Mangold have agreed to terms on a seven-year, $55 million contract, according to a source.
The amount of guaranteed money was still be negotiated, but the total is expected to be more than the $20 million Rams center Jason Brown received last year.
Mangold was scheduled to make $3.3 million this season in the final year of his rookie deal.
Eli Says He'll Play Against Ravens
Giants quarterback Eli Manning says he'll play in the team's third preseason game against the Ravens on Saturday.
Manning practiced Monday afternoon wearing a blue Giants baseball cap instead of a helmet because of recently-removed stitches on his forehead.
"I liked his tempo right away," coach Tom Coughlin said. "He got the ball out of his hand quick and made some real good decisions. So we're glad to have him back on the practice field."
Manning expects to be able to wear a helmet on Wednesday.
Eli Will Practice Without A Helmet
Giants quarterback Eli Manning will practice Monday but without a helmet.
Manning just had stitches removed from his forehead stemming from a gash suffered in a preseason game against the Jets last Monday.
New York coach Tom Coughlin is hopeful that Manning will be able to play against Baltimore on Saturday.
Giants Sign OL Shawn Andrews
The Giants have signed veteran offensive lineman Shawn Andrews.
Andrews, a former Pro Bowler with the Eagles, has spent the last 10 months rehabbing his back in Los Angeles.
Andrews signed a six-year "prove it" deal with a lot of consideration in the second year according to his agent, Rich Moran.
"I'm laying it all on the line," Andrews said. "Not that I haven't before but this is it. The Giants are going to get everything from me."
Giants Perilously Thin At QB, Sign Randolph
Jim Sorgi had an MRI exam Thursday and was diagnosed with a torn capsule in his right shoulder that will sideline him two to three weeks, said Matt Brei, the quarterback's agent.
The injury doesn't involve Sorgi's labrum, however, which was injured last season.
Needing quarterback depth, the Giants signed free agent Dominic Randolph on Thursday and waived tight end Jake Ballard, who was sidelined most of training camp because of a hamstring injury.
Eli Manning will miss this week's preseason game due to injury.
Eli's Backup Will Miss 2-3 Weeks
Giants reserve quarterback Jim Sorgi will miss 2-3 weeks of action with a torn capsule in his right throwing shoulder.
New York's starting quarterback, Eli Manning, could be sidelined this weekend after receiving 12 stitches to close a gash in his head suffered on Monday night against the Jets.
The Giants were forced to practice with just one healthy quarterback, Rhett Bomar.
Eli Manning May Miss Steelers' Game
Giants quarterback Eli Manning could miss the team's preseason game against the Steelers this week.
Manning suffered a gash that required 12 stitches during Monday night's 31-16 win over the Jets. Since then, he hasn't been able to put on a helmet.
"Initially, with Eli being the kind of guy he is, the idea for me going forward was: 'How are we going to make it so he can practice and play with the stitches?' " coach Tom Coughlin said.
"There is concern there from the doctor's standpoint, because the nature of where the helmet sits according to where the stitches are could create a problem in terms of healing."
Manning Bloodied, Giants Still Top Jets
Giants quarterback Eli Manning was bloodied on Monday night, but his team still topped the Jets to win the first-ever game at the new Meadowlands Stadium.
Manning was forced out New York's 31-16 victory after suffering a 3-inch gash to the left side of his forehead early in the second quarter Monday night.
"Initially, we were all concerned and scared," Giants center Shaun O'Hara said. "When you see a quarterback bleeding like that, it was something out of a Friday The 13th movie."
Manning needed 12 stitches to close the gash.
The teams traditionally meet in the third game of the preseason, but both wanted to be part of the unveiling of their new $1.6 billion, 82,500-seat home.
