Julian Edelman Recovering From Broken Thumb

Julian Edelman is recovering from a broken thumb, according to sources.

The injury was initially described as "mild trauma."

The New England Patriots receiver suffered the injury playing catch three weeks ago.

While his status for camp and the preseason is in doubt, Edelman should be fine for the regular season.

Sony Michel To Open Training Camp On PUP List

Sony Michel, who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason, will open training camp on the active/physically unable to perform list, according to a source.

The New England Patriots' first practice of training camp is scheduled for Thursday.

Michel's knee scope was considered precautionary. The 2018 first-round pick out of Georgia (No. 31 overall) missed most of training camp last year with a knee injury and was sidelined for three games in 2018 due to knee ailments.

Chiefs Fan Fined $500 For Shining Laser At Tom Brady

The Kansas City Chiefs fan who shined a laser in Tom Brady's fanduring the AFC Championship Game has been fined.

Dwyan Morgan was given a $500 fine after pleading guilty to disturbing the peace.

A green light flashed across Brady’s face during the Patriots-Chiefs game in January. Laser pointers can cause eye injuries and could easily distract a player during a game, but Brady did not appear to notice it.

The running back was held out of offseason practices following arthroscopic knee surgery this spring.

"It's a process and it's just something that I'm just kind of working towards," Michel said. "That's the goal to be ready for training camp."

Tedy Bruschi 'Doing Much Better' After Stroke

Tedy Bruschi posted on Instagram on Monday that he is "doing much better" after suffering a stroke last week.

Bruschi wrote that around 10:30 a.m. on July 4 he lost the use of his left arm and realized he was slurring his speech when he tried to speak. He wrote that his wife also noticed the left side of his face was drooping when he turned to her.

"We immediately knew what was happening. These are stroke warning signs. We called 911 and an ambulance got me to the hospital. Thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers. I'm doing much better," he wrote.

Bruschi, 46, previously suffered a stroke in 2005, while he was a member of the Patriots. He missed the first six weeks of the season, then returned to play eight months after the stroke.

Brady’s personal trainer and business partner, Alex Guerrero, also attended the session.

Gronkowski retired from the NFL in March.

Gronkowski said on the Rich Eisen Show last week that “there’s definitely going to be times when you miss it and everything. . . . I mean I can’t really say how I’m going to feel about it when the games start rolling around and everything.”

Tedy Bruschi is recovering after suffering a stroke Thursday, his family said in a statement.

"He recognized his warning signs immediately: arm weakness, face drooping and speech difficulties. Tedy is recovering well," the statement read. "Tedy and his family thank you for your ongoing encouragement, and kindly ask for privacy at this time."

Bruschi, 46, previously suffered a stroke in 2005, while he was a member of the New England Patriots. He missed the first six weeks of the season, then returned to play eight months after the stroke.
