Brady Has Never Felt Better Physically

Oct 17, 2014 12:41 AM

Tom Brady is now 36, meaning he unquestionably is nearing the end of his career as his physical abilities begin to decline. But Brady has continued to post incredibly productive numbers in his thirties.

“I think over the years I’ve actually learned to take care of myself a little bit better, so this is the best I’ve ever felt,” Brady said. “I’ve never felt any better than I have at this point, so I’m excited. We’ve had three good days with the whole team together and I think we’ve seen some improvements, but we still have a long way to go.”

Brady's bigger issue this season may be the loss of his receiving weapons.

Patriots Only Will Use Tim Tebow At Quarterback

Dec 5, 2014 2:39 PM

The New England Patriots have almost exclusively used Tim Tebow as a quarterback during the opening days of training camp.

There has been speculation that Tebow would be used by the Patriots as an H-back or even tight end, but he has only spent time in the quarterback meeting room and wears a red non-contract jersey.

Tebow has participated in an open field running drill, but that is typical of the Patriots.

“He’s just practicing his open-field running,” McDaniels said. “Matt Cassel and (Doug) Flutie and some of those other guys I’ve had a chance to coach, I think we did the same types of things with them. And again we know Tim has a skill set that some of these other guys don’t possess in terms of his ability to run with it, scramble with it when he has it in his hands.

“I know the defensive guys enjoy the challenge of trying to get him to the ground, but I think it’s good for everybody. It’s a normal procedure we go through in training camp.”

Patriots Won't Pay Bonus To Aaron Hernandez For Work Completed

Sep 13, 2014 6:09 PM

The New England Patriots will not pay Aaron Hernandez an $82,000 workout bonus due on August 1 for work he performed prior to being charged with murder.

Withholding this offseason workout bonus is expected to be a harbinger of the $3.25 million bonus due to Hernandez in March 2014, which league sources said the Patriots also will not pay.

The payment is expected to be contested by Hernandez's agents.
