Moss Not Retiring, Looking For Agent

Oct 15, 2014 4:10 AM

Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss says he isn't close to retirement and is looking to replace his recently-fired agent. "I have no intention of retiring soon," Moss told the Boston Herald. "What I did with firing an agent was, I thought time had run out. There were some things that couldn't be done that needed to be done." Moss also told the Herald that he's looking for new representation. "To all the agents out there, I am a free man! I am looking for a new agent," Moss told the Herald. "I got this football thing under control, but going into my 13th year in the league, I'm still marketable. I'm looking for an agent that's going to get me out there with my marketing ability."

Welker Didn't Have Surgery On MCL

Sep 2, 2014 6:15 AM

Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker says that he injured two knee ligaments last season, but only one required surgery. Welker injured the ACL and MCL in his left knee, but says that the MCL didn't require surgery. "We just had to wait for it to heal," he said. "We didn't have to do surgery on it." Welker still isn't certain when he'll return to the field, but says the fact he didn't need surgery on the MCL was "great news." "It's hard to put a timetable on anything," Welker said. "And plus, whenever you put a timetable on it, now people expect you. If you're not ready then, they're like, 'What's wrong?' "I'm going to be back when I'm ready, and I'm just going to work as hard as I can to be back as early as I can."

Brady Cites Lack Of Toughness For 2009 Season

Jul 21, 2014 11:16 PM

Tom Brady believes the New England Patriots lacked confidence and mental toughness last season. "When the going got tough, we didn't get going," the quarterback said Wednesday during a radio interview on WEEI-AM in Boston. "We weren't really a mentally tough team last year." Last season, the Patriots lost four games in which they led at halftime and were 2-6 on the road. "Games that we lose in the fourth quarter, games that we lose in the second half, or losing on the road like we did, that can be lack of trust, lack of confidence," Brady said. "There are a lot of issues you have when that repeats itself time and time again over the course of the season." Brady said he hopes the players whom coach Bill Belichick obtained during the offseason can make the team more mentally tough. "Coach always used the words 'mentally tough' to us. I always agree with him," Brady said. "I think that's been a big point of emphasis this offseason. Hopefully, we find ways to address it with each other and also with coach bringing in different players and to see if they can bring a little bit of that to our team."
