Brady's Ankle Not Listed On Injury Report
Despite receiving more attention that any other body part in the world over the last week, the "sprained" ankle of Tom Brady was not listed on the Patriots' injury report when it was released late Wednesday night, according to ESPN.
Brady was listed on the report but with a shoulder injury. He took part in the team's full practice on Wednesday.
Brady On Plax Prediction: Only 17 Points?
Tom Brady is puzzled by the prediction of Plaxico Burress, who said that the Giants will beat the Patriots 23-17 in this Sunday's Super Bowl and briefly addressed the wide receiver's comments on Wednesday.
"We're only going to score 17 points?" Brady told the AP this morning before chuckling. "OK. Is Plax playing defense?"
"I wish he had said 45-42 and gave us a little credit for more points," he added.
Pats Forced To Wait Until Free Agency To Re-Ink Moss
It appears as though Randy Moss will re-sign with the New England Patriots beyond this season, but they will have to wait until the free agent period begins at the end of February, according to ESPN.com
"I would love to finish my career [in New England], just for the fact of they have everything you want in a football organization," Moss told ESPN. "They handle things from the top, all the way to the bottom, and they do a good job of that."
Brady Practices In Pats' First Super Bowl Session
Tom Brady practiced with the New England Patriots on Monday, the team's first practice of the week leading up to Sunday's Super Bowl, according to the Associated Press.
He missed three practices last week, and his injured right ankle was taped during Monday's practice.
As usual, Bill Belichick was tight-lipped regarding all injuries.
"Everybody practiced," Belichick to the AP. "The injury report will be out Wednesday."
Attorneys Agree To Extend Moss Restraining Order
A temporary restraining order against New England receiver Randy Moss has been extended until March 28, according to the Associated Press.
Moss' lawyer Richard Sharpstein said the decision was made after he learned the player's longtime friend changed attorneys.
Rachelle Washington's new attorney is Darrell Thompson.
Moss has maintained his innocence throughout the legal process.
Brady Admits Injury, Says He'll Be Fine
Tom Brady finally addressed his famously injured ankle on Sunday night, telling Newsday that he will without a doubt play in the Super Bowl this Sunday,
"It's feeling good," Brady told Newsday. "I'll be ready to go."
He plans on taking snaps when the Patriots hold their first practice this Wednesday.
Brady, Sans Boot, Soaks In Super Sendoff
The Associated Press reported that Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady walked without a limp or a boot, as New England left Foxboro for the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday.
"Now this is Foxborough faithful right here," Brady told a cheering crowd of about 15,000 after he reached the podium at midfield along the Patriots' sideline. "We can just go ahead and play the game today. Thank you guys for coming out."
Fans Paying Record Prices For Super Bowl Tickets
According to the Associated Press and ticketing firms, Giants' and Patriots' fans are paying record prices to scalpers for tickets to this year's Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, and the total dollar volume of resold seats could be the biggest ever.
Asking prices for the February 3 game range from $2,450 to $19,446 at StubHub, a unit of eBay Inc. and the biggest of the online resellers. Officials there say the average price so far is $4,300 for tickets that the NFL originally priced at either $700 or $900.
Brady Missing At Practice
The Associated Press and ESPN.com are reporting that for the second consecutive day, Patriots QB Tom Brady wasn't in the locker room when reporters and cameramen were allowed inside Friday.
Several cameramen lingered near Brady's locker, but he didn't show up. Nor was he there for the first 12 minutes of practice that the media were allowed to watch.
Asked if he could say whether Brady would practice later in the day, Bill Belichick said, "Not now. We'll see."
