Chad Brown Meets With New England

Oct 24, 2014 3:52 AM

Former Patriots Chad Brown, a free agent who will turn 37 in July, visited Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, agent Peter Schaffer confirmed. Schaffer added that in terms of a signing, ?nothing?s imminent.? The Pats are already five-deep in starting-caliber linebackers, with Tedy Bruschi, Rosevelt Colvin, Junior Seau, Adalius Thomas and Mike Vrabel in the fold. But more depth would be useful, given their 30-something ages and the physical demands of the team?s gap-control system.

Brady Doesn't Like Media Coverage Of Personal Life

Oct 24, 2014 3:52 AM

Tom Brady doesn't care for the intense media coverage surrounding his personal life. Brady is expecting his first child with actress Bridget Moynahan, whom he broke up with in December. Brady is now dating model Gisele Bundchen. "It doesn't affect anyone but me anyway, so why is it a big deal?" Brady said, according to Details magazine. "I'm attracted to women who are smart and funny and ambitious and have lives of their own and great families. Isn't that what attracts anyone?" he said, Details reported. "People want to go out and travel around and meet cool people. I could just go live in Vermont, but is that what I really want?"

Patriots Re-Sign Junior Seau

May 31, 2014 9:39 PM

The Patriots on Monday re-signed 12-time Pro Bowl linebacker Junior Seau. Terms were not disclosed. Seau, 38, signed a one-year contract with the Patriots last August - four days after he announced his retirement as a member of the Chargers in an emotional speech in which he said he was "graduating." Lured to New England by coach Bill Belichick in hopes of winning a Super Bowl, Seau played well for the Patriots before missing the final five games with a broken right forearm. He ranked fifth on the team with 69 tackles.

Moss Making Good Impression With Patriots

Jul 12, 2014 3:27 AM

In an interview with 890 ESPN in Boston last week, defensive lineman Jarvis Green revealed that Randy Moss was in Gillette Stadium last Wednesday, and it made an impression on his teammates. ?Just (his) being there. He didn?t even have to work out. Just being there says a lot about him,? Green said. ?He?s not the guy everybody thinks he is. He just wants to be a Patriot. I know what people say about him, but he wants to win. He?s a competitor.?

Former Raiders' Coordinator Says Moss' Skills Were Diminishing

Oct 31, 2014 6:10 AM

Brett Favre was so angry that the Packers didn't trade for Randy Moss that he called out the organization. Well, not everybody shares his high opinion of the wide receiver. "Randy Moss is a player whose skills are diminishing, and he's in denial of those eroding skills," former Raiders offensive coordinator Tom Walsh told the Boston Globe for Sunday's edition. "Randy was a great receiver, but he lacked the work ethic and the desire to cultivate any skills that would compensate for what he was losing physically later in his career. "He told me last year, 'I'm too old to practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but I'm not too old to play on Sunday.' Did they start a senior league?" Walsh was fired, along with head coach Art Shell, after Oakland's 2-14 season. Moss was shopped by the new Raiders regime and finally landed in New Endland.

Seau Close To Returning To Pats

Nov 3, 2014 9:01 PM

The Patriots have made numerous off-season player moves. But one of the few questions remaining is who will play middle linebacker? And the answer may soon be Junior Seau. The San Diego Union-Tribune has reported that Seau will re-sign with the Patriots late next week, pending a successful physical. The 38-year-old veteran of 17 NFL seasons, announced just before the start of the 2006 season that he may retire, but then signed with the Patriots in search of an elusive Super Bowl title to complete his illustrious career. Apparently he is on the verge of coming back to the Patriots for another season.
