Crennel Interested In Ty Law If He's Healthy

Jul 24, 2014 1:30 PM

Browns' head coach and former Patriots' defensive coordinator, Romeo Crennel would be interested in bringing Ty Law, a former player from his New England days to Cleveland. "I haven't spoken with Ty, but Ty knows how I feel about him and I don't think there's any question about how he feels about me," Crennel said. "His injury situation is one that has to be resolved." Law underwent surgery on the foot and has only recently started running. "I know he's visited some places, but I haven't heard [how healthy he is]," Crennel said. "I heard he was running straight ahead, but I don't know where he is." Shortly after Law was released by the Patriots in February, Crennel said at the NFL Combine, "If healthy, Ty Law is still one of the best cornerbacks in the game."

Bruschi Unsure If He Will Return To The Gridiron This Season

Jun 17, 2014 7:09 AM

New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi, who suffered a mild stroke three days after the Pro Bowl, doesn't know if he will play football this season. Bruschi told WBZ-TV in Boston on Saturday that he will take his time before making the "big decision" of whether he should get back on the field in 2005 with the Super Bowl champion Patriots. "During the season we take it one game at a time, and right now in my life I'm taking it one day at a time," said the 31-year-old Bruschi, who said he's "feeling great" three months after the stroke. "When it comes time for a decision to be made, we've been talking about it, my family and I, but that's a decision you don't rush into so I'm taking my time with it."

Troy Brown Returns For 13th Season In New England

Sep 2, 2014 8:00 PM

Veteran wide receiver Troy Brown, who also played on the defensive side last season, is returning to the Patrios for a 13th season. Brown has reached agreement, ESPN.com has learned, on a one-year contract. Financial details were not immediately available but the contract, which will be officially signed next week, is believed to be worth more than the league minimum. "I haven't been around a better leader in 30 years in the NFL than Troy Brown," said Bill Belichick. "And he would never stand up in front of a room and [deliver] a speech. It's just not what he does. But he always comes in prepared and ready to help the team. Whatever I ask him to do, he does. Play defensive back. Return punts. Whatever. He'll do it for the good of the team, and that's a great leader."

Patriots Sign Brady To 6-Year Contract

Oct 1, 2014 5:59 PM

According to a report filed by Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com, Tom Brady has signed a 6-year contract with the Patriots, worth close to $60 million. The contract as reported includes a $14.5 million signing bonus and a $12 million option bonus due next spring. Recent reports have circulated saying the deal has been close with only the structure of the payments holding up the signing. It would seem the option bonus was a way to get both sides to sign. It also means that there will probably be a further restructuring of the contract when that option comes due in order to keep Brady's cap figure manageable.
