Sam Bradford's Knee Injury Was Not Due To Contact

Sep 20, 2017 3:19 PM

Sam Bradford said the knee injury he sustained in Week 1 was not due to contact.

"I felt it when it happened," Bradford said. "I honestly didn't think it was that big of a deal, and then the longer the game went on, it started to feel just a little bit worse and a little worse. Woke up Tuesday, and it just didn't feel very good."

Bradford said he has a clear indication of what the injury diagnosis but wouldn't divulge the nature or severity.

Bradford was inactive for Week 2.

Bradford tore the ACL in his left knee in 2013 and again in 2014.

Sean Payton, Adrian Peterson Deny Heated Exchange

Sep 12, 2017 11:32 AM

Television cameras appeared to catch Adrian Peterson yelling at Sean Payton during Monday night's loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

After the game Payton said there was nothing to the exchange and suggested to reporters he didn't know what they were asking about.

"We weren't in any heated exchange," Payton said. "No. Listen, I'd tell you if we were in a heated exchange, so why don't you ask him? He was into it, we were all into it, there was none that I can recall. And I'm being honest."

Peterson also denied having any type of run-in with Payton, saying that although he would have liked to play more than nine snaps, there was no issue between the two of them.

"Just communicating with him," Peterson said. "Obviously, the competitor I am, I want to be in every snap. But I don't make those calls."

Vikings Place Teddy Bridgewater On PUP, Release Alex Boone

Sep 2, 2017 8:21 PM

Teddy Bridgewater has been placed on the physically unable to perform list to start the season while also cutting offensive guard Alex Boone.

The Vikings approached Boone about taking a pay cut. Boone will cost $3.4 million in dead money toward the team's salary cap this year. Boone signed a four-year, $26.8 million contract with Minnesota in March 2016.

Bridgewater sustained what some thought would be a career-ending injury in August 2016 when he dislocated his knee and suffered a complete tear of his ACL and other ligaments.

Bridgewater will be eligible to come off the PUP after the first six games.
