Latavius Murray Motivated By Dalvin Cook, Expects To Start

Jun 28, 2017 9:11 AM

Latavius Murray expects to start for the Minnesota Vikings despite the presence of rookie running back Dalvin Cook.

Murray, who signed with the Vikings as a free agent, didn't participate in the team's offseason activities after having ankle surgery in March.

"It wasn't a surprise. When you see a guy, again, first-round potential sitting there in the second round, they snatch him up, you can't be surprised," he said of the Vikings taking Cook. "It motivates me regardless, because they're always going to bring in somebody to take over for your position."

Cook has impressed the Vikings this offseason and Mike Zimmer said the former Florida State running back has "a chance to be special."

Vikings Support Michael Floyd's Kombucha Tea Defense

Jun 26, 2017 7:12 AM

The Minnesota Vikings reportedly support Michael Floyd's claim that any alcohol present in drug tests he took while under house arrest came from drinking kombucha tea.

Vikings COO Kevin Warren wrote a letter of support and sent it to Robert Feinberg, Floyd's attorney, according to the Pioneer Press. Feinberg submitted the document in a motion requesting that Scottsdale City Judge Statia Hendrix cancel Floyd's hearing scheduled for Monday and restore electronic monitoring for the remaining five days of his 96-day house arrest.

Floyd was ordered to attend the show-cause hearing after a review of alcohol monitoring reports indicated the presence of alcohol in several tests.

In a statement released on June 16, Floyd said he "drank several bottles of kombucha tea drinks" while watching a movie at his home and was "unaware that the drinks contain alcohol."

Teddy Bridgewater Looks 'Like He Was Never Hurt'

Jun 16, 2017 7:47 AM

Teddy Bridgewater has not been cleared to participate in practice as he continues to rehab from the knee injury he suffered last Aug. 30.

However, the Minnesota Vikings quarterback has thrown to receivers during individual drills as part of his rehab work. When he'll be able to work at full speed, or plant his left leg and cut, or absorb contact to his knee remains unknown.

"It's just the way he gets the ball out," Laquon Treadwell said. "He's getting the ball out before you're breaking. He tells me he's spent a lot of time studying film. A lot of things he would say he was messing up on, he's looked 10 times better this year. When you go through an injury like that, film is your friend. You've just got to stay hungry and believe in yourself. He'll be fine.

"He looks great -- really great. It's like he was never hurt."
