Latavius Murray Undergoes Ankle Surgery

Latavius Murray, who signed a three-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings last week, underwent ankle surgery on Wednesday.

The Vikings said in a statement that they knew about Murray's need for an operation before they signed him and they expect him to be ready for training camp.

Murray's ankle condition was made known to teams in free agency, according to a league source.

Vikings Rule Out Re-Signing Adrian Peterson

The Minnesota Vikings have ruled out re-signing Adrian Peterson.

The Vikings signed Latavius Murray to a three-year, $15 million deal this week.

Rick Spielman said he texted Peterson at 1 a.m. on Thursday morning and informed him of the Murray deal.

"With us signing Murray, Adrian will move on elsewhere," Spielman said on a conference call with reporters.

Peterson became a free agent when the Vikings declined their $18 million option on his contract.

Peterson has met with the Seahawks but they signed Eddie Lacy. Peterson also has interest in the Raiders.

Latavius Murray Signs Three-Year Deal With Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings have signed Latavius Murray to a three-year contract that can be voided after the 2017 season.

Murray, 27, led the Oakland Raiders with 788 yards and 12 touchdowns in 14 games this past season.

However, his touches decreased from 2015 (228 from 307) with the emergence of DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard and because he missed two missed games with turf toe.

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a three-year deal with Adam Thielen that could be worth as much as $27 million through incentives, according to a source.

The contract includes $11 million in guaranteed money. The Vikings had placed a second-round tender on the restricted free-agent receiver. Thielen would have made $2.75 million on the tender.
