Vikings To Give Adrian Peterson As Many Carries As Possible

Jul 28, 2015 3:16 PM

Adrian Peterson wants to rush for 2,500 yards this season and Mike Zimmer has said he'll get enough carries to make that possible.

"As much as he can take, and as much as he can handle in all the things that we're doing," Zimmer said, via USA Today's Tom Pelissero. "Obviously, we're going to have to spell him at times like you do a lot of guys. But we get down on the goal line, and we're probably not pulling him out, you know? He's our best player, and we're going to continue to use him."

The Vikings will pay Peterson $26 million over the next two seasons.

Peterson missed 15 games last season due to his child abuse situation.

Jabari Price Receives Two-Game Suspension

Jul 24, 2015 3:40 PM

Jabari Price has received a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Price, who is entering his second season with the team, was arrested for drunken driving after the Vikings' final game of the 2014 regular season, and pleaded guilty to careless driving on April 10. He was sentenced to 30 days of electronic home monitoring and a $300 fine.

"I sincerely apologize to my family, my teammates, the Vikings organization and Vikings fans for the mistake I made last winter," Price said in a statement released by the NFLPA. "I can assure you that it will never happen again. I look forward to returning to helping my team on the field in Week 3."

Adrian Peterson, Vikings Agree Upon Restructured Contract

Jul 22, 2015 11:21 AM

Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings have agreed upon a restructured contract.

Peterson's deal carries $20 million guaranteed at signing. Part of that amount is guaranteed for injury only and the rest is fully guaranteed.

Peterson was due base salaries of $12.75 million, $14.75 million and $16.75 million in the next three seasons. The restructure brings down the value of those while adding more guarantees.

Brett Favre Not Attempting Comeback, Believes He Can Still Play In NFL

Jul 2, 2015 12:54 PM

Brett Favre is not preparing an NFL comeback at the age of 45, but he does believe he can still play.

Favre finished his career with the Minnesota Vikings after a storied career with the Green Bay Packers and one season with the New York Jets.

"I think I could play," told Sports Illustrated for an upcoming cover story. "As far as throwing. Of course, we're not trying to start some he's-coming-out-of-retirement deal. Do I think I could play and lead a team? Look, no. But I could play. I could make all the throws I made before, I just couldn't throw it near as far, but that never matters anyway."
